After Lisa departs towards the end of the film, the house and everything else magically puts itself back together, as if nothing had ever happened. We see the missile rescind, the furniture fly back into the house and slide perfectly in place, all damage undone, Chet returned to normal, etc. However, they never addressed or explained the reversal of the catatonic grandparents stuffed in the kitchen closet. Are they still in there? Did they wake up and just leave the house? Were they magically transported out of the house? Were their memories wiped like Gary's parents earlier? No clue.
