  • I haven't seen everything in Alan Arkin's filmography, but from my experience thus far, the 1980s seems to be the low point of his career. In the 1960s and 1970s, he landed some great roles, and from the 1990s on he's been a successful character actor, but in the 1980s, he was in a lot of underwhelming crap. The absolute worst might be CHU CHU AND THE PHILLY FLASH, which I cannot bring myself to finish, but the sitcom HARRY cuts it close. The series lasted only a few weeks before low ratings killed it and it isn't hard to see why viewers stayed away. The jokes are lame and the characters are mostly irritating bores. You want to punch all of them. It feels like it's the bottom of the barrel, a total waste of time.
