Set decades after Captain Kirk's five-year mission, a new generation of Starfleet officers set off in a new Enterprise on their own mission to go where no one has gone before.
Through the first five seasons of the show, the set of sliding doors located on the wall next to the center console in Engineering were part of a turbolift. In the last two seasons, the turbolift was changed to a Jefferies tube access room.
Space... The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission, to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.
It is claimed that Data can't use contractions (Can't, Isn't, Don't, etc) yet there are several instances throughout the series where he does. One of the first such examples is heard in Star Trek: The Next Generation: Encounter at Farpoint, where Data uses the word "Can't" while the Enterprise is being chased by Q's "ship".
The 1991 episode "Unification, Part 1" is dedicated to the memory of Gene Roddenberry.
