My review was written in March 1989 after watching the program on HBO video cassette.
This well-produced video entry from Playboy is a definite improvement on the standard programs from the pioneering men's magazine and should provide HBO a solid sell-through and catalog title.
Format focuses on the mag's models in lingerie, but allows greater freedom and variety than expected. A couple dozen brief segments revolve around fantasies, with excellent photography (on film, not video) putting it across.
Best segments are directed and shot by Paul Nevitt (a/k/a Andrew Blake), featuring former centerfold model Teri Weigel daydreaming of a sexual tryst with her handsome computer repairman; a knockout session of three beautiful blondes getting ready for a wedding shower (the stunning bride-to-be segueing into a romantic clinch with her betrothed), and a pastel-lit glamor photo shoot of statuesque mode Roxanne Kernohan, in which the moire lighting patterns substitute for lingerie in futuristic fashion.
