The story of Henry Hill and his life through the teen years into the years of mafia, covering his relationship with his wife Karen Hill and his Mob partners Jimmy Conway and Tommy DeVito in the Italian-American crime syndicate.
At the very end of the movie, when Tommy fires a couple of rounds at the camera for no apparent reason, he's duplicating the final scene in Edwin S. Porter's The Great Train Robbery (1903).
The fuck is that?
In a segment introduced as Brooklyn, 1955, the camera follows Henry running off to his job at the cab stand. Part of the view is a look through the utility poles to show the surrounding neighborhood. The shot includes a modern cable television amplifier.
