During Lecter's escape, when the SWAT team officer steps up on the step ladder, and prepares to open the elevator roof, he points his pistol at the trap door. The pistol is a Browning Hi-Power, which is a single action pistol, meaning that the hammer must be cocked for the pistol to fire. The hammer is not cocked in the scene.
After the Copyright notice and MPAA logo, a logo appears with the text "A Luta Continua". This is not a production company credit; instead, it's Portuguese for "The Struggle Continues" ("To be continued").
