During a preview tour, a theme park suffers a major power breakdown that allows its cloned dinosaur exhibits to run amok.
When the Utahraptor was discovered right before the film's release, which had a similar height to the Raptors depicted in the film, Stan Winston joked, "We made it, then they discovered it".

At the beginning of the film, when all the characters are being flown to the island, the helicopter is flying directly towards it and Hammond is seated with his back to the cockpit facing the rear of the helicopter. When Hammond says "There it is", in reference to "the island", he is looking to his left and towards the rear of the helicopter, (his version of 10 o'clock if the rear of the helicopter was 12 o'clock) which would be a view of the vast ocean, not the island in the front of the helicopter.
