In German-occupied Poland during World War II, Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazi Germans.
Steven Spielberg directs Ben Kingsley, the star of Gandhi (1982), to which he had lost the Best Picture and Best Director Oscars eleven years before. His previous film, Jurassic Park (1993), featured Richard Attenborough, to whom he had lost them. For this film, Spielberg finally won both.
When the boy is caught by the Nazi troops, he drops his case next to his feet. When we cut back to him, the bag is a meter away.
The end credits are shot in black and white.
The Amblin Entertainment logo is absent and in its place instead is the credit: "From Amblin Entertainment".
The MPAA Rated R logo at the end does not have the regular blue background and is shown over the black screen.
