  • I would like to start by saying that I was there when the whole incident with Eddie happened. The movie was very accurate from the standpoint of how the shooting occurred and the timeline immediately afterward. I was Eddie's Platoon Sergeant at the time of the incident. I regret not staying in touch with Eddie and hope he is doing well. After his platoon visited him in the hospital, he did come back to Camp Pendleton for the Marine Corps Birthday, but that was not in the movie. I can say that he was a very good Marine, he studied hard and applied himself well. It is very unfortunate that this happened to him and if I regret one moment in my career in the Marines, it would be that moment. Best wishes to Eddie Keating and his family.
