A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's room.
The toy Shark, wearing Woody's hat, proclaims, "Look, I'm Woody! Howdy howdy howdy!" This references a cowboy-eating vulture in one of Gary Larson's "The Far Side" daily comic strips, from the early 1980s: "Hey everyone, look at me, I'm a cowboy! Howdy! Howdy!... ...
All right, everyone! This... is a stick-up. Don't anybody move! Now empty that safe!
Andy: Ooh, hoo hoo! Money, money, money!
Andy: Stop it! Stop it, you mean old potato!
Andy: Quiet, Bo Peep! Or your sheep get run over!
Andy: Help! Baaa! Help us!
Andy: Oh no! Not my sheep! ...
When Woody goes into Hannah's room to retrieve Buzz, the coil of Christmas lights are right next to the door. When they come out, the coil is missing. It is there again when Woody picks it up to go back to Sid's room.
In the DVD version, when the THX logo appears it gets burned out like a flashlight then a robot comes out of the logo, fixes it, and the THX sound resumes and the robot goes back inside it.
