It's uncommon to watch a movie about explorer so unrecognized like Humboldt and Bonplandt. They explored a continent in a moment of revolutionary south America and discover that nature is more than animals and flowers. It's about persons and life, not about there discoveries, probably there is where the film fails to make a better plot. Always can be better but is an interested play it and deserve recognition for this. In general it's an amazing journey in an unexplored continent. There is much to say and few people how want to showed. If there is some literary liberty in the movie, it's for the artistic purpose of making it interesting.
