Alien: Romulus director ensures R-rating, avoiding PG-13 mistake of Alien Vs Predator, per franchise tradition of gory horror. Fede Alvarez's upcoming reboot approved by Ridley Scott for a gritty, disgusting storyline between Alien and Aliens in franchise timeline. Alien: Romulus expected to maintain R-rating like predecessors, staying true to tradition of gruesome gore and adult-oriented horror.
While the rating of Alien: Romulus has not yet been announced, the reboot looks almost certain to avoid one major blunder the franchise made 20 years ago. The Alien franchise has been through many incarnations. The series started life as a claustrophobic space-set slasher when director Ridley Scott’s Alien arrived in 1979. Director James Cameron’s Aliens transformed the franchise into an action-forward adventure, while David Fincher’s Alien 3 brought the series right back to grim, nihilistic horror. 1997’s bizarre Alien: Resurrection saw Jean-Pierre Jeunet add some unexpected, and not entirely welcome, black...

Alien: Resurrection offers a unique and fun take on the franchise with dark comedy and a comic-book vibe. The film features an unsettling and creative horror element with the uncanny valley creature and compromised Ripley character. The dedicated cast and crew had fun creating the movie, with practical effects giving it an '80s sci-fi feel that has aged well.
The Alien franchise has some incredible entries, but the most underrated film in the series is Alien: Resurrection. Released in 1997, the movie was met with mixed reviews that leaned towards the positive, but was still buried beneath both a historically great year for cinema and the high expectations of fans. Since then, opinion remains mixed on the film and its place in the franchise. Resurrection is certainly odd and at times frustrating, but this movie is an example of what great sci-fi often is: strange, thought-provoking, and challenging to viewers.

Movie franchises are a lot like memories...they may fade away, but they'll never die. The latest example of this adage is the current rebirth of the 44-year-old Alien movie franchise. Despite numerous attempts to reignite the franchise with Alien: Resurrection, the Alien vs. Predator films, Prometheus, and a Neil Blomkamp-directed sequel that was ultimately canceled, the franchise sputtered to a halt in 2017 with Alien: Covenant.

Director Fede Álvarez says new and long-time fans of the first two Alien films will be pleasantly surprised by Alien: Romulus.
There's an overwhelming consensus that Alien and Aliens were the best films of the franchise and many consider subsequent installments subpar or even unnecessary. This divide has been evident even in the films where Sigourney Weaver reprised her role as Ellen Ripley; Alien 3 was considered a disappointing culmination of a trilogy, and many considered Alien: Resurrection too ham-fisted to take seriously. In an interview with Variety, director Fede Álvarez explains how Alien: Romulus will attempt to capture the spirit of the first two films while infusing new life into the series. He also revealed that Ridley Scott and James Cameron were heavily involved in developing the latest movie.

As one of the best directors working in Hollywood, David Fincher has crafted several riveting and iconic films over the years. His movie career started roughly with his directorial debut Alien 3 — a film plagued by studio interference and even considered terrible by Fincher himself. However, he quickly rebounded with three projects throughout the late 1990s, including cult classics like Se7en, The Game, and Fight Club.
Fans of Fincher tend to give his films high ratings, considering the careful direction the filmmaker puts in each of his productions. As such, most of his movies tend to be iconic examples of their respective genres. With his latest Netflix film The Killer, Fincher continues to show why he is a director to look out for whenever he creates something new in the crime, thriller, action, and drama genres.

The official trailer and poster have been released for the upcoming movie Alien: Romulus.
Set to hit theaters in August, Alien: Romulus is a new installment of the Alien movie series, though it has a standalone story that's set between the events of the first two films. Fede Alvarez directed Romulus, which he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues. The movie follows a crew confronted with the Xenomorphs, putting them into a fight for survival. On Tuesday, Alvarez teased big news coming for Romulus on Wednesday, and that has now been revealed to be a new trailer. The trailer and poster can be seen below.

At the risk of barging too hot out the gate, I'm going to co-sign Chris Evangelista's argument for /Film that there are no bad "Alien" movies. Sure, the various follow-ups to Ridley Scott's classic 1979 original can be polarizing -- especially Scott's gothic prequel films "Prometheus" and "Alien: Covenant" -- but they're never boring, and "Alien" itself remains the rare IP where each individual entry retains the hallmarks of the directors who made them. As though any other franchise would ever let Jean-Pierre Jeunet come in and make a no-holds-barred Jean-Pierre Jeunet sci-fi horror film like "Alien: Resurrection." Just sayin'.
For as much as I would've liked it if Scott got to finish telling the story of the beloved homicidal android David (Michael Fassbender) with his intended prequel trilogy finale "Alien: Awakening," I'm curious to see what Fede Álvarez comes up with playing in this particular sandbox. They say “In space no one can hear you scream.” Buuuuuuuut we’ve seen through eight Alien films that if you’re in a spaceship plenty of people can hear you scream. The Xenomorphs have no problem causing their victims a lot of pain. Even though we’ve seen them in a lot of films, fans will mostly agree that after Aliens, the franchise was never the same. But did you know that District 9 director Neill Blomkamp almost made an Aliens sequel?
In 2015, filmmaker Blomkamp announced he had been working on a new Alien project. This was even a surprise to Fox, which owned the series. Fans seemed excited by the prospect of the director taking on the project after the imaginative sci-fi films he had been releasing. Ultimately, after some starts and stops, the film would fall apart. Let’s find out exactly why here on What Happened To This Unmade Movie?...

Actress Sigourney Weaver is recognized as a figure in science fiction and popular culture and rose to fame with Ridley Scott’s Alien in 1979. Her character Ellen Ripley is regarded as one of the most significant female protagonists in cinema history. She reprised Ellen Ripley’s character in 1986’s Aliens by James Cameron and later in 1992’ Alien 3 and 1997’s Alien Resurrection.
Known as one of the finest actresses in the entertainment industry, Sigourney Weaver reunited with James Cameron for his successful movie Avatar in 2009 and later in 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water. The actress has always been appreciated for portraying the characters on-screen with utmost honesty and perfection. Ripley remains a cinematic icon in the Alien series, facing deadly Xenomorph threats with gear and her fierce determination. Travis Charest's tribute sketch captures Ripley's strength and the sinister threat of the Xenomorphs she battles in the franchise. While Ripley's story may have seemingly come to an end, her legacy as a groundbreaking female horror icon in cinema continues.
Sigourney Weaver's iconic hero Ellen Ripley gears up and arms herself against the terror of Xenomorph menace in Alien art. The star has portrayed the former freight craft crew member turned sole survivor and Xenomorph-killing civilian adviser to the Colonial Marines in Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror hit. Weaver portrayed the character in three following sequels, as the Xenomorph and the corporate interests that hope to claim them expand across the cosmos, bringing new, deadly alien breeds into even deadlier environments in the far future.

One of the most iconic science fiction action franchises is "Predator," which began with the eponymous movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1987. While "Predator" is regarded as an action classic, attempts to follow-up on its success have since had considerably more mixed results. The series has seen a number of sequels, revivals, and crossovers with the "Alien" franchise, with varying levels of critical and commercial reception. However, for every "Predator" movie that has seen the light of day, there are plenty of projects that were canceled or altered significantly.
From failed attempts to bring Schwarzenegger back in the fold to star in additional installments or sequel plans shelved by disappointing box office, there are lots of discarded "Predator" movies. This includes the studio shuffling pitches and filmmakers in their hopes to keep the franchise relevant and recapture the 1987 movie's magic. Alien: Romulus could bring back the iconic exosuit from Aliens, providing a powerful weapon against the xenomorph menace. The movie takes place between the original Alien and Aliens, offering a departure from Ridley Scott's prequel movies. Cailee Spaeny, known for her role in Pacific Rim: Uprising, is a perfect fit to operate the exosuit and connect the film to the original franchise.
Fede Álvarez's upcoming Alien: Romulus promises to bring the sci-fi horror franchise back to its roots, and in doing so can also revisit one of the series' most iconic alien fighting techniques. Alien: Romulus star David Jonsson recently teased that the upcoming movie will be "very different" from previous installments in the sci-fi franchise.
Speaking with MovieWeb, Jonsson, who is one of the three leads in Romulus, shared how the sci-fi movie will offer a unique spin on the 45-year-old franchise. "I mean, I'm not too sure what I can say just yet, but I know that... I know that it's very, very, very different. I think Alien was slightly before my generation, in terms of its depth and its impact at the time, but you know, we have such an incredible spin on it," the actor said. "And we had Fede Álvarez as our director, Ridley Scott producing it. It was incredible to work with those people, and opposite Cailee Spaeny, who is just a brilliant actress. Alien: Romulus wisely avoids delving into the murky history of Weyland-Yutani, allowing for a more streamlined focus on horror elements. Previous franchise entries struggled with incorporating Weyland Industries, leading to convoluted plotlines and unnecessary character subplots. By keeping Weyland-Yutani in the background, Alien: Romulus follows the successful formula of Alien and Aliens, prioritizing the Xenomorph as the central villain.
While Alien: Romulus could still fall victim to many of the mistakes made by earlier franchise outings, there is one story flaw that the reboot has avoided even though it plagued two earlier sequels. The Alien movies have a complex, knotty chronology. The first three movies tell the relatively straightforward story of Ellen Ripley, a warrant officer who becomes an action heroine against her will when she is repeatedly pitted against the ravenous Xenomorph. I still vividly remember the Oscar campaign for Amélie with its whimsical tone and saturated colors. It was several years until I watched the film myself, but I was absolutely blown away when I did. Amélie provides an almost fantastical look at romance in a way I’d never experienced. Audrey Tatou is a revelation and absolutely mesmerizing in every shot. So I was pleased to be able to talk to Amélie’s director, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, about the film’s re-release. Amélie has some strange rights issues for those unaware, which means the film has no worldwide distributor. But thankfully, Sony Pictures Classics has come along and given us a re-release of the film. However, don’t get your hopes up for a 4K release, as the director views them as nothing more than a gimmick. So when you see that eventual Blu-Ray release, don’t hold out hope for a 4K behind it.

Alien: Romulus could retcon Ridley Scott's prequels and make Alien Vs Predator part of the franchise's canon. Alien Vs Predator's version of events fits more easily into the timeline of the Alien series than Prometheus. Alien: Romulus shouldn't feel obligated to reinstate the plot of Alien Vs Predator, but should focus on telling its own self-contained story.
While Alien: Romulus can make one largely forgotten franchise outing canon again, this isn’t necessarily the best way of retconning Ridley Scott’s divisive prequels. The Alien franchise has a complicated timeline that has only grown knottier as the series progresses. The heroine of Alien and Aliens, Ellen Ripley, died at the end of Alien 3 only for her to be revived as a clone in Alien: Resurrection. As if this weren’t complicated enough, 2004’s Alien Vs Predator and original Alien director Ridley Scott’s later prequels Prometheus and...

Franchises can experience a revival by adding new ideas and diverging from tradition, as seen in "Fast Five" and "Puss In Boots: The Last Wish." Sequels with strong character development and fresh perspectives can surpass their predecessors, like "The Suicide Squad" and "Thor: Ragnarok." Some franchises struggle to maintain quality with sequels, as seen in "Alien Resurrection" and "Die Hard II," but can find redemption with later installments like "Prometheus" and "Die Hard With A Vengeance."

Alien and Aliens are two of the most highly respected and beloved sci-fi horror films ever made… and all of the films that have followed have either been divisive in one way or another, or just flat-out poorly received. One of the least popular entries in the franchise is the 1997 installment Alien: Resurrection (watch it Here), which put some fans off with its wild and weird tone and its crazy ideas. Alien: Romulus's director, Fede Alvarez, is known for creating dark and relentlessly grim horror movies. The director's previous works, such as Evil Dead and Don't Breathe, have a tone that aligns more with Alien 3's darkness than the earlier films in the Alien franchise. Alien: Romulus faces the challenge of striking a balance between being fun and engaging while maintaining the appropriate level of terror, avoiding the pitfalls of having unlikable or unsympathetic characters.
While Alien: Romulus’s director is known for gritty horror movies, their new movie can’t afford to repeat the franchise’s worst mistake with its gory story. Although every movie in the series could accurately be called a sci-fi horror, the Alien franchise doesn’t have a consistent tone. 1979’s original Alien is a small-scale claustrophobic slasher movie set in space, while 1986’s Aliens is a more bombastic, action-forward story that features bigger guns and a larger cast.

Alien: Romulus will be set on a distant planet, avoiding the mistake of bringing the Xenomorph to Earth like in previous unsuccessful films. Both Alien vs. Predator movies showed that an Earth setting did not work well for the franchise, resulting in critically abhorred movies. Alien: Romulus's setting will bring the franchise back to its roots by focusing on claustrophobic and unfamiliar locations, where the Xenomorph can thrive against unprepared heroes.
The news that Alien: Romulus is set on a distant planet proves the franchise is avoiding a problem that killed not one, but two earlier outings. That hit was followed by director James Cameron’s bigger, more action-forward Aliens, before 1990’s disappointingly bleak Alien 3 and 1997’s misguided Alien: Resurrection. 2004’s Alien Vs Predator took the franchise’s action back into the past, only for 2012’s...

Fast & Furious 11 is reportedly going back to basics with a measly budget of $200 million. More details here.
The 11th Fast & Furious film, which is currently slated for release in 2025, is reportedly Vin Diesel’s last as Dominic Toretto. Aside from 2 Fast 2 Furious, Diesel has appeared in every other Fast & Furious film, including a cameo in Tokyo Drift.
The news comes from industry insider Jeff Sneider (spotted by World Of Reel). Sneider’s report also mentions that the next film will be a considerably more scaled back effort, with a budget of only $200 million.
Of course, the words ‘only’ and ‘$200 million’ don’t usually go together, but considering the budget for Fast X was reportedly $340 million, it’s a pretty big cut. Then again, Fast X received middling to negative reviews and grossed $714 million worldwide, which wasn’t quite enough to make the film profitable. You can...

Horror movies are a transformative experience. They can elicit a wide range of emotions and reactions. They can make us feel an overwhelming sense of dread, terror, or fear. We love horror films. But you know what I love even more than horror movies? Horror video games.
A good horror game will give me the same rush as a movie. Something that doesn’t often happen, however, is the intersection of the two. Sure we have stuff like Dead By Daylight and Evil Dead: The Game but for the most part the era of video games based on movies has long passed. But that’s not to say there aren’t some absolute gems based on your favorite movies.
For this list I’ve tried to highlight some of the most enjoyable adaptations I’ve played and some underappreciated ones as well. Though some may be kind of a hassle...

Disney's new Alien movie, Alien: Romulus, will not be tied to any of the previous Alien films, giving it the opportunity to stand alone and expand the franchise. Alien: Romulus can reference the prequel series in simple but inventive ways, bridging the gap between the original films and the prequels. By referencing both the original series and the prequel duology, Alien: Romulus can make the franchise feel cohesive and set the stage for the future of the Alien franchise.
Disney's Alien installment can tie into Ridley Scott's prequel movies in a simple way, which would bring the Alien film franchise full circle once and for all. Despite having different directors, the original Alien films were sequential and fluid until Scott directed a pair of prequel movies that complicated the franchise's broader story arc. Alien: Romulus takes place between the events of Alien and Aliens, ruling out any possibility of Ripley appearing in the film. The film's placement in the timeline allows for exploration of the 56-year time gap that hasn't been seen in the franchise before. The absence of Ripley in Alien: Romulus allows the Alien franchise to finally move on from the iconic character and find new storylines to explore.
News regarding the timeline of the upcoming sequel Alien: Romulus has been revealed, with this detail pointing out that the franchise has found the perfect way to move on from Ripley. Ellen Ripley was the main character of the first four Alien movies, with Sigourney Weaver's iconic sci-fi character being one of the reasons why the original films were so successful. However, Ripley sticking around has highlighted the problem that Alien has had with moving on from her, but Alien: Romulus'...

Disney's new Alien movie will feature a young cast of relative unknowns, promising a fresh start for the franchise. The casting of Cailee Spaeny and Isabela Merced as strong, self-sufficient heroines could fix the problem of previous Alien prequels relying on Ripley clones. Spaeny's younger age suggests her character will bring a new perspective to the franchise while still honoring its traditions, similar to how Jane Levy's Mia changed the tone of the Evil Dead series.
The announcement of Disney’s new Alien movie cast confirms that the standalone installment will keep the best franchise trend alive. Since the Alien movies began back in 1979, the series has relied on its strong lineup of talent. Back in the original movie, John Hurt was one of the biggest stars on the cast list, and this made his early exit all the more shocking for viewers. Since then, Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley...

The Alien franchise has been expanded with a lot of books over the years, but none of them have been aimed at an audience as young as the one the upcoming book A Is for Alien: An ABC Book is hoping to reach. This book – which is set to reach store shelves on July 9th and is available for pre-order at This Link – is meant for kids in the 2 to 5 age range, as it’s out to teach them their ABCs with the help of the xenomorph.
Coming our way from 20th Century Studios and Little Golden Books, A Is for Alien has the following description: In space no one can hear you giggle as you read this Little Golden Book featuring the characters from the classic movie Alien! Follow Ripley and the rest of the Nostromo crew on a space adventure that introduces the alphabet from A to Z.

The Alien franchise's box office success has played a significant role in keeping the Xenomorph alive and thriving. The upcoming Alien movie, directed by Fede Álvarez, is not bound by the previous films' narratives and can bring in profit if it interests audiences enough. The success of Álvarez's Alien could lead to a future where the franchise expands the universe without worrying about financial returns, as interest in the Xenomorph remains strong.

Alien: Romulus' setting means it's essentially ignoring Scott's prequels, highlighting the flaws of the franchise's timeline. Disney's new movie is set between Alien and Aliens, returning to the franchise's glory days rather than taking place among the less popular sequels and prequels. Alvarez's stripped-down approach will make Alien: Romulus feel more like the original, exciting fans of the franchise's most acclaimed outings.
The news that Alien: Romulus will avoid Ridley Scott’s Alien prequels proves that the franchise’s timeline has as many misses as it does hits. The Alien franchise’s story is uneven at best. While director Ridley Scott’s original Alien (1979) is a masterpiece of claustrophobic horror, David Fincher’s Alien 3 (1992) is an atypically weak effort from the talented filmmaker that feels excessively bleak, too thinly plotted, and, crucially, un-scary. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers felt like a retread of previous material and lacked the quality of the original classic. Alien: Resurrection failed to live up to the extraordinary highs of its predecessors due to script changes and poor execution. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a letdown after waiting almost 20 years for Indie's return, and its mixed reception signaled the decline of the franchise.
A successful trilogy is an incredible thing, but one movie more and it can ruin the entire franchise. When we get a glimpse of the fully-grown xenomorph in Ridley Scott's "Alien" for the first time, the dread felt by the crew aboard the Nostromo is immediately heightened to new levels. An apex predator with an unforgettably imposing structure, the xenomorph faithfully embodies the moniker of the "perfect organism" as it hunts, covets, and adapts ruthlessly throughout the film. Nigerian visual artist Bolaji Badejo donned the suit of this legendary creature for Scott's film, bringing the xenomorph to life in a way that would cement its legacy as one of the most recognizable monsters in horror.
The xenomorph suit, whose design and structural aesthetics were created by H.R. Giger, consisted of a dozen pieces that had to be put together on top of a one-piece suit. The alien's elongated headpiece, which was detachable and went on last, was once likened by Bolaji to "having your head stuck up...

The Xenomorph, which first appeared in in the 1979 classic Alien, that we all know and love has been through the wringer. Between Alien: Resurrection, Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem and Alien: Covenant, cinema's most iconic creature has not had the best representation on screen in a while. Ever since Covenant was released in 2017, there were rumblings of a potential sequel that would tie the prequel series to Ridley Scott’s original film. But that never came to fruition as Covenant heavily underperformed and was not beloved by fans. The franchise essentially died again — until now.
The Disney-Fox merger left a lot of intellectual properties in limbo, and the Alien franchise was one of them. Audiences didn't know if the family-friendly mouse house would continue producing films revolving around a chest-bursting alien, but that all changed in 2020 when they announced that Fargo’s Noah Hawley would be creating a new show for FX/Hulu.

Ridley Scott's "Alien" changed the playing field for science fiction and horror in 1979. Starting with a haunted house story in space, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) endures a never-ending nightmare that builds to a terrifying chase through an empty, self-destructing ship. Winding up in a locked room with the titular alien, best known today as the first Xenomorph in the franchise, Ripley's story is a triumph of human will versus the natural hell of space.
As with most films, the vision behind "Alien" went through a series of changes before it launched into theaters. Arguments with artist H.R. Giger over the religious and then psychosexual shape of the Chestburster eggs caused controversy early on, and an early preview of what would later become the Queen Xenomorph's ability to web up her egg hosts are hallmarks of the fandom. But there's one other huge change that, thankfully, never had a chance to make it to canon.

The success of the original Alien movie and its sequel, Aliens, can be partly attributed to their smaller budgets and reliance on practical effects and budget-friendly CGI. The budget of Prometheus, a prequel to Alien, was initially requested to be $250 million but was reduced to $120-130 million due to concerns from the studio. The film's use of 3D cameras and extensive post-production work increased the budget even further. Despite its high budget and ambitious vision, Prometheus did not rank as one of the best films in the Alien franchise. The smaller budgets of Alien and Aliens allowed for more risk-taking and innovative ideas in their storylines, contributing to their critical success.
The monumental $130 million budget of the Alien movie's prequel highlighted what truly went wrong with the Ridley Scott movie franchise. Although Ridley Scott's Alien is now considered one of the best sci-fi horror films, it received mixed reviews from...

Who on earth would want to release a horror movie in November?! That’s like showing up to Thanksgiving dinner on a full stomach or going for a jog after a marathon. Surely, studios don’t purposefully plan to release their movie during the four weeks After the entire world is consumed with the dead, dying, maimed and dismembered, right? The calendar says spooky season is over (although you and I know differently) and as the grumpy neighbor in Halloween II says, the general audience has “been trick or treated to death” by October’s end.
On the contrary, November Horror has had some shockingly great runs over the years. And maybe there’s a method to the madness. If horror fans are lucky, October is packed tighter than a Black Friday sale at Target during a live in store Taylor Swift performance. Why not wait a couple of weeks...

"Alien" is a watershed horror and science-fiction film; many have tried to recapture its foreboding magic but director Ridley Scott is confident no one can beat his classic.
The film follows the seven-person crew of the space mining vessel Nostromo; in the 22nd century, space travel is the job of regular working Joes. They pick up a distress signal and, in investigating, pick up an eighth passenger: the titular beast, a phallic and half-cybernetic horror spawned from a human (specifically John Hurt's Kane) but utterly devoid of humanity. The alien blends into the leaky, industrial hull of the Nostromo, and as it picks off the crew one by one, their goal shifts from destroying it to escaping it.
Next year marks the 45th birthday of "Alien," but it still holds up no matter its age. However, in the decades since its release, more than half the cast has passed on.

Disney's Alien: Romulus is a standalone sequel that drops the prequel storyline, bringing the franchise back to its basics. "Alien" is one of the greatest horror movies of all time. It's also one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. Director Ridley Scott provided an incredible formula that ignited an entire franchise. When James Cameron jumped on board with "Aliens," he injected the sequel with his action sensibilities and took the film series to the next level. "Alien 3" was lambasted, mostly for killing Newt and Hicks off-screen, but it's not David Fincher's fault the studio pushed him around, and the workprint cut of the movie is much better. "Alien Resurrection" is just awful. Flash forward, and "Prometheus" disappointed some longtime fans but has some passionate defenders, and "Alien: Covenant" tried to meet somewhere in the middle, but didn't quite stick the landing.
However, all of the "Alien" movies, in some capacity, feature the familiar formula that was established in "Alien." Our main characters end up trapped somewhere,...

Alien: Romulus should break tradition and retire the android characters that have been present in every Alien movie so far in order to maintain originality and a fresh plot. Previous Alien movies have already explored the themes and roles of androids from various angles, making another android character redundant. The absence of Ripley in Alien: Romulus allows for more creative freedom, and it's time to take the same approach and eliminate the idea of a crew android as well.

It's not mentioned out loud in any of the movies, but the alien species in the "Predator" series is called the Yautja, pronounced "Yah-oot-Cha." Although there have been comics and other pieces of expanded universe ephemera to explain where the Yautja come from and what their civilization might be like, the movies have depicted them merely as a species of intergalactic hunters that have arranged their entire society around the challenge of hunting for sport. They could have a rich arts community back on their homeworld, or perhaps a stirring and complicated political culture, but we've only ever seen the hunting part of their society. Perhaps the hunters are merely wealthy weekend warriors who can afford to go game hunting on other planets, while other Yaujta protest their wasteful brutality.
Throughout their multiple film appearances, the Yautja have mostly hunted humans, although there are two notorious films from the 2000s...

Even though he didn’t direct “Alien 3” or “Alien: Resurrection,” the “Alien” franchise is arguably Ridley Scott‘s. After all, the 1979 original was a breakout hit for the director, and he revitalized the franchise last decade with “Prometheus” and “Alien: Convenant.” So it only makes sense that Fede Alvarez would want Scott’s blessing for his upcoming sequel, “Alien: Romulus.”

"Alien: Romulus will be unconnected to previous films, allowing for a fresh story without the constraints of existing characters and developments." "Sigourney Weaver has confirmed that she will not reprise her role as Ripley, eliminating potential timeline complications and avoiding the need for forced narratives." "The Alien franchise needs to move beyond Ripley and the original stories, focusing on the terrifying creature itself and introducing a new cast of characters to revitalize the series."

There will always be debate about the worst film in a franchise. While some audiences find too much action objectionable, others might hunger for a deeper emotional connection between the characters. Even in the Alien series, opinions vary about which film out of the six is the most disliked. While there are those who feel that Alien 3 takes the cake — killing off beloved characters, comitting to strange camera angles, and mirroring the grungy style of its auteur, music video-turned-film director David Fincher — there's a definite challenge to the title. Alien: Resurrection, the fourth film in the franchise, is regularly cited as a fan-least-favorite, a footnote in the branching lore of the Alien story.
