Mulder and Scully must fight the government in a conspiracy and find the truth about an alien colonization of Earth.
As is the case with many 20th Century Fox Films, the film cans for the advance screening prints and show prints had a code name. The The X Files (1998) was "Nuts and Bolts."
Special Agent Fox Mulder:
You got about 14 minutes to evacuate this building.
Special Agent Dana Scully: Come on Mulder.

Mulder discovers the bomb in the vending machine after noticing that the mains cable is not plugged in. Even so, the bright lights on the front of the machine continue to glow before and after this discovery. This isn't an error, as the bomb needs an internal power supply, and the panel lighting would disguise the 'bomb', making people think it was just malfunctioning.
