Wynonna Judd is officially back on the road after launching her Back to Wy Tour!
The legendary country singer is showcasing her debut and sophomore solo albums, Wynonna and Tell Me Why, during the shows. She’s performing each album from front to back, in order, with a sentimental acoustic section between the two sets.
“Getting to share this tour with the fans who have been with me for 40 years, means the world to me. Deep diving into my first two solo albums, Wynonna and Tell Me Why, track by track, will be a trip down memory lane. As I sit and listen to these two records, I’m flooded with the memories that surrounded that time in my life. The fans held me up and supported me through that season of change in 1992, and I now see ‘herstory’ repeating itself. This music healed me then and is healing me now.

Perry reportedly came up with the idea while on maternity leave, since fans often mistake the New Girl actress for the musician. The video was directed by Similar But Different (the Chainsmokers, Liam Payne) and features Deschanel camping around in Perry’s most iconic costumes and, eventually, saving the...

There’s a massive, mostly empty room at the center of Wynonna Judd’s house with a large picture window that looks out across her farm south of Nashville. The view from the only chair in the room, which Wynonna calls her “prayer chair,” is a serene pasture and pond. The high, vaulted ceilings make singing in that room an acoustic dream, with the bare walls providing natural reverb.
This is where Wynonna recorded her a cappella performance of the standard “Feeling Good” (premiering today), and it all just happened...

Some of the homes in the Five Towns area of the county were so grand as a young child I thought they were department stores. That highly paid police force made sure nary a worry would the residents of Inwood, Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Woodmere, and Hewlett have.
There was very little crime in Nassau County and no black people. The only place you would see people of color in Five Towns were the shopping malls or the cotton fields. Cotton fields? Can’t say I ever saw them, but I was born free.

New Delhi, Sep 8: Director Punit Malhotra has revealed the two posters of his forthcoming movie "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein", starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Their attire and backdrop are a combination of city and rural lives.
Going by the look of the posters, it seems Imran is playing a city-based guy and Kareena is acting as a simple girl from village dressed in salwaar kameez.
In the first poster, Imran and Kareena are seen sitting opposite each other on a broken bridge as their eyes meet. The poster goes well with the tagline of the movie "Only love can bridge the gap".

David Cameron gave a mixtape to his fellow G8 leaders at their summit in June, and High Fidelity it is not.
The themes of the meeting in Northern Ireland were tax evasion and transparency, but the 10-song playlist had no clear unifying theme. In fact, the Telegraph reports that the songs were not selected by Cameron at all.
According to The Independent, the playlist was put together by BPI, the British record company trade association, as "a bespoke creation for the leaders."
The 10 songs constitute a smattering of the chart-topping adult contemporary fare Barack Obama or Vladimir Putin might have caught if they tuned into BBC Radio 2 while cruising around the Lough Erne Resort.
The Guardian called the mixtape an offering of "well-scrubbed young men and woman peddling polished but largely derivative takes on folk and soul, with a sideline in tastefully bleeping electronica."
The list includes "Tessellate" by Alt-j,...

Remember birthday parties where clowns would make poodles out of balloons?
This is sooo much better.
"Tumbleweed Tango," an animated short about lovestruck balloon dogs dancing to avoid cactuses, is tripping the light fantastic through the Internet.
Creativity-Online called it a "heartwarming, Pixar-like tale."
The video's Vimeo page described it thusly: "A balloon dog is lost in a world of danger. One wrong step and his dancing days are done. Only love, and tango, can possibly save him."
Like the characters, you just might dance on air after checking this out.

Jim Carrey has taken to Twitter to apologise for insulting assault-rifle owners in the Us.
The Canadian-born comic and actor, whose "Cold Dead Hand" skit lampooning gun control opponents and their one-time president Charlton Heston broke viewing records on the Funny Or Die site in March, said he was sorry for calling rightwing critics "bullies" and "thugs" in a subsequent blogpost.
"Asslt rifle fans, I do not agree wth u, nor do I fear u but I do love u and I'm sorry tht in my outrage I called you names. That was wrong," Carrey tweeted, before adding: "Btw I don't need a crisis mgr, just a conscience. Calling ppl names is inappropriate but my position on assault weapons hasn't changed. Only love is cool.

He made headlines after publicly dissing his forthcoming flick “Kick-Ass 2” and now Jim Carrey is (sort of) saying he’s sorry for blasting advocates of gun rights.
The “Liar Liar” star took to his Twitter account to send out a message of “love” to the folks he slammed for their views on firearms.
Carrey tweeted, "Asslt rifle fans,I do not agree wth u,nor do I fear u but I do love u and I'm sorry tht in my outrage I called you names. That was wrong."

Jim Carrey has been picking a fight lately with people who support the sale of automatic weapons, calling them “maniacs” in the wake of the Aurora, Colorado, shooting last July and making harsh allegations about their relationships with their mothers in March. The star has also announced his refusal to publicize his role in the gun-happy Kick-Ass 2.
However, perhaps inspired by a spirit of national companionship, Carrey has apologized for insulting the owners of high-powered automatic death machines. On Sunday, he tweeted:

Jim Carrey has apologised to gun owners for "calling them names".
The actor caused controversy recently when he announced that he no longer wishes to support his movie Kick-Ass 2 because of the level of violence it contains.
Carrey, who explained that he had changed his position following the Sandy Hook shooting, was then urged by some fans to donate his fee for the movie to charity.
Carrey has now apologised to gun owners for his use of language during the row, but insisted that he stands by his original sentiments.

He might not look it, but Johnny Depp turns 50 today. And while he hasn’t spent all 50 of those years in Hollywood, he has given us countless memorable moments since exploding on the scene in the ’80s.
The tatted superstar with very interesting taste in movie roles is as pretty as he is mysterious, so in honor of a great actor (and his remarkable cheekbones), here are 50 of his best moments, from his many words of wisdom to his best characters and everything in between:
1. In Don Juan DeMarco: “There are only four questions of value in life … What is sacred?...

Matt Cardle may be a name you know as a previous winner of the British TV Talent Show ‘The X-Factor’. He won the show and in my view was one of the best contestants the show had ever seen. The Fire is his second album, which takes his musical direction back to where he was, prior to the singing competition. His first album ‘Letters’ received positive feedback and had some very good songs for a first release. Starlight was my personal favourite. Anyways back to his current album, which is out to purchase right now on So What Recordings, after he parted ways with Sony. The standard album is 10 tracks long and there is a deluxe edition available too.
The album instantly opens with the lead single, It’s Only Love. The song hits you straight away with Cardle’s unique voice and keeps you hooked...

This past week the cinema-loving world suffered a completely senseless and vicious tragedy. To lots of people, including myself, the movie theatre is a sacred place. Hallowed ground. We go there to escape the horrors of the real world, and now is a very important time to do just that.
In the days following the tragic shooting that took place in Aurora, Colorado, in which an absolutely insane cretin took the lives of several people and injured dozens more, it seems as if everyone has gone wild. People are afraid of going to the movies for fear of copycats. The usual vultures are looking to politicize the situation and point fingers, as if doing so could somehow start healing the wound left by this terrible incident. This has to stop.
The person who committed these heinous crimes didn't do so for any reason other than he's a mentally unstable and sick individual.

David J. Roch: Skin & Bones (Dram)
The punk aspiration that "everyone can" has been rendered by the digital age a democratic reality, and a jaundiced reward. A tsunami of silver discs panhandle the ears of listeners, and as a result an air of capable mediocrity holds sway, an invisible ether of downloads gas expectations with their average worth instant availability, and then, but only occasionally, something creeps out of the speakers that startles and stuns, demands proper attention, and soars above the parliament of ordinary birds and their common-place warblings.
Though this is a debut album, Sheffield's David J. Roch sounds like a seasoned hand. He also betrays a sense of pain and sorrow at odds with his tender years, but the first cut, even if more brutal ones follow, feels like the deepest, the most wounding. Right on the heels of the Footloose reboot and the other sh*tty dance movies of the decade (there's a screener on my desk right now for a particularly hideous-looking one called Go For It!), comes a timely Upright Citizen's Brigade parody of the genre. It's called Freak Dance! I'm on board for anything that involves Amy Poehler saying things like "That music sounds like murder," which happens.
13th Annual Del Close Marathon
Here's the logline for you fine people:
Freak Dance is a dance musical parody in the vein of Electric Boogaloo, Step Up, Dirty Dancing, You Got Served and every other dance movie ever made. The sexy and wealthy Cocolonia must escape her roots and learn to street dance with the help of Funky Bunch, who dreams of being the best dancer ever. They must save the Fantaseez community center from the Building Department and the evil gang...

Celebrity Apprentice 2011! Who is Dionne Warwick and why is she famous? [Mar. 13] Known as the celebrity spokeswoman for the Psychic Friends network, Dionne Warwick is a major music celebrity. She’s earned five Grammy awards for her music, and most recently was in London for the Hunger Project, which is her chosen charity for this season of Celebrity Apprentice. Then again, she’s always been a green celebrity. She earned some notoriety in 2002 when she was caught and arrested for carrying joints in Miami International Airport. From IMDb: Although Warwick had a handful of Top Ten hits during the 1960s, many of her songs were not given the chance to shine. Such songs include "Any Old Time of the Day," "Here Where There Is Love," "The Wine Is Young," "Check Out Time," "Wives and Lovers," "Only Love Can Break a Heart," "Knowing When to Leave," "(They Long to Be) Close to You,...

Why is it, exactly, that romantic films get such a bad rap? Not romantic comedies, necessarily, which have demonstrated themselves to be surprisingly dextrous in their appeal, but straight-up, swing-for-the-fences, irony-free romance, in which seemingly perfect relationships are doomed for no reason other than the fact that it is frustratingly tragic. Some of it probably does have to do with the fact that most critics are men, and thus less likely to be sympathetic to things marketed away from them, but that doesn’t explain away the defensiveness of women who make absolutely sure that nobody thinks that they have any Harlequin novels stashed under the bed. Enter Only Love, a two-part, nearly three-hour miniseries in which talented actors work their way through a situation that sounds like the set-up to an elaborate joke. The film has an almost disarming confidence in its mission, which may provide some insight into...

Roswell, N.M. - The aliens have returned! Maybe not returned so much as finally arrived on home video with the release of Dark Skies: The Declassified Complete Series on DVD. Startling enough, the show only lasted a season on NBC in 1996. It gained a large cult with an alternative history of America in the ’60s. “History as we know it is a lie” was the startling series slogan. John Loengard (Eric Close) went from plucky congressional aide to a member of the ultra creepy Majestic 12 run by Frank Bach (J.T. Walsh) to battle the alien menace. An equally bizarre transformation happens to his girlfriend, Kimberly Sayers (Megan Ward). She gets alien abducted and returned. The perky perfect sixties gal goes to dark side.
