Tonight on the Weekend Update segment of Saturday Night Live, anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che tackled new guidelines from the CDC, Rep. Liz Cheney’s ouster from Republican leadership, Tom Cruise’s recent decision to return his Golden Globes and more.
“Guys, great news this week,” Jost exclaimed, as he kicked things off. “The CDC announced that fully vaccinated [individuals] no longer have to wear masks or socially distance—except if you go to most places.”
After the announcement, he continued, President Biden told Americans to take off their mask and smile, “even though ‘take it off and smile’ is the first example in every workplace harassment seminar.”
Later, Che noted that House Republicans have voted to remove Liz Cheney from party leadership, after she repeatedly challenged former president Donald Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was stolen. “Wow, I never thought I’d find myself feeling bad for Liz Cheney,...

Before there was Zac Efron and Harry Styles—hell, before the Internet boyfriend was even a part of our accepted lexicon—there was Erik von Detten. He was the epitome of a Disney dreamboat: The baby blue eyes, the smoldering gaze, the somehow always perfectly gelled back blonde hair. Teens everywhere had his poster plastered over the walls of their bedrooms. Erik von Detten was your first crush, a Tiger Beat editor's dream come true and "the sexual awakening for a whole generation of girls, gays and theys," as one Twitter user so aptly put it. From the mid-90s to the early 2000s, he captured hearts in Escape to Witch Mountain, Brink! and The Princess Diaries. (He gave Mia Thermopolis...

It’s a good thing Brie Larson is at peace with her earlier heartbreaks. In a video she posted on Thursday, the “Captain Marvel” star rattled off all the movies she auditioned for and didn’t get — and it’s quite the list.
Larson broke her list down into movies she auditioned for and then missed out on, as well as movies she made it to the final round for and still didn’t get. And all of these were just from between 2008 and 2009.
“It’s a lot of heartbreak, folks. Here I am, still standing,” she said after running down her list.
Hearing Brie Larson rattle them off rapid-fire is delightful and hilarious, but in case you can’t watch, here’s the full list, including some blockbusters, Oscar-winners, some real stinkers and even a pair of Marvel movies!
“Sucker Punch,” “Gulliver’s Travels,” “Mars Needs Moms,” “Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief,...
