Topher Grace was cast after the show's creators, Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, saw him in a high-school play. They had attended the play to watch their daughter and were impressed by Grace. Grace had never acted professionally before.

In some episodes, characters use an insulting term, dillhole. However, the term dillhole was coined on the TV series Beavis and Butthead during the 90's.
In the episode "Christmas" (6x07) the "That '70s Show" title is decorated with Christmas tree balls again. During the opening credits Christmas bells can be heard. This was used before in episode 4x12.
