Still, despite the fact that Brennan kicked him out of their house, Booth isn’t ready to give up on his marriage.

Shearer, the voice behind such characters as Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Waylon Smithers and Principal Skinner, is leaving the show amid a contract dispute.

“Harry Shearer was offered the same deal the rest of the cast accepted, and passed,” exec producer Al Jean said in a statement to the New York Times. “The show will go on and we wish him well.

Miyazaki’s Swan Song A Somber Flight Of Fancy

Earlier this month, legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki, writer and director of such masterpieces as Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky and My Neighbor Totoro, announced his final retirement (this isn’t his first). How fitting that his final feature takes up his favorite thematic motif, that of magical phenomenon and fantastic human achievement – flight. Oddly, for the first time in his lengthy career, Miyazaki has embraced the more realistic storytelling of his partner Isao Takahata, yet he hasn’t abandoned the lyrically imaginative storytelling he’s known for. With Studio Ghibli’s signature hand drawn and heartfelt feel, The Wind Rises fictionalizes the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the chief engineer behind the famed Japanese Zero fighter jet, and blends his tail with that of Tatsuo Hori, author of the novel from which the film’s epithet originates.

Even as producer David Bergstein plows ahead in the movie business, the lawsuits and judgments continue to pile on.

The latest to come to light are a lawsuit for alleged failure to properly distribute a movie, a judgment by a Las Vegas casino against Bergstein personally and a Canadian court order taking away ownership of the ThinkFilm name.

This comes only days after Bergstein and his silent partner Ron Tutor were sued by a New York hedge fund for $120 million — even as their Capitol Films unit was selling international rights to movies at Afm under its new name, the Pangea Media Group.

Capitol Film and ThinkFilm were sued Oct. 22 by Solar Filmworks of South Carolina for $10 million in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging fraud, breach of contract, false promises and negligent misrepresentation.

Bollywood’s elder statesman, actor Amitabh Bachchan, and his daughter-in-law, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has had some crossover success in the West, are the two Indian movie stars most frequently interviewed by foreign media, and condescending Western reporters often ask them why Bollywood doesn’t make "serious" or "realistic" films, to which they tiredly reply that Bollywood is "escapist cinema." I can’t blame them for giving reporters the answer they want to hear. The Bachchans are probably trying to be polite and diplomatic because they’d love to gain new fans in the West. Or maybe they’re just sick of explaining what appears to be a baffling concept to Western critics: entertainment is supposed to be entertaining.
