  • This film presents a graphic presentation of what the fates may do for us. One man falls from his high estate, and, becoming a common burglar, is taken away by the police. The other, a derelict, presented with a chance $5 bill, makes it the basis of fame and fortune and ultimately marries the former wealthy man's sweetheart and buys his palatial house. Putting the men thus in conjunction emphasizes the difference in human characteristics, but the situations are by no means exaggerated. The same things are going on in the great workaday world all the time. The interest is so strongly human that there can be no question of its success with the audiences - The Moving Picture World, April 22, 1911
