A film with great sobriety (or soberness): a farm in the Jura mountains, the father is wood carver, the wife taking care for the cows a son who begins to make dolls for the girl he loves. In these mountain areas the people don't speak a lot, they just say the most important.
A film about generosity: the street musician who plays for Mary, the Christmas gifts for all the girls in the hospital.
Finally the very good performances of Tanguy Bothorel (Louis), Roland Blanche (Alphonse), Catherine Frot (Antoinette), Armonie Sanders (Marie Monge) , Jacques Spiesser (Raoul Monge) Paul Crauchet ( the sympathique street musician) and of course Christoph Waltz (Klaus Hermann).
