Most people comment on the obvious homages to pop culture such as the Mace Windu "Pulp Fiction" scene but what I loved most about this film was the subtle humor whether it was deliberate or not. From the crazy punching and kicking sound effects to the samples from the Star Wars movies and to the weird blaster sounds from the Snowtrooper it just works from beginning to end. Bib Fortuna pimp slaps Luke Skywalker and all he has to say is "De Wanno Wannga"? Classic. Ben Kenobi wakes up to find Lobot in bed with him, sits up abruptly and senses "a great disturbance in the force"(after dreaming of a crazy droid ballet set to Pee Wee Herman music).
I was rolling from beginning to end. Greedo and co. getting down to some samba/jazz fusion, change the channels and two Imperial officers are taking turns slapping each other. Sandpeople waiting in line to kiss a newly revived Han Solo.
This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen on film. If anyone thinks its crude or unpolished I submit that the crazy movements, abrupt sampling and zany story are signs of a great comedic mind and one heck of a talented, creative individual.
