  • I watched the entire series and was captivated all the way through. The stories are good, and the character development throughout the series excellent. You felt that you really got to know the individual characters . I'm sure many viewers at the time when the series were aired thoroughly enjoyed them. Well done, I'm sorry there were only 10 seasons of this.
  • This is an enjoyable Belgian TV series. I have watched most of the episodes on the DVD box sets available. The DVDs have no English subtitles, so you need to be able to speak Dutch to understand them. OK, its not great art, and doesn't have the high production values of American or British crime series e.g. CSI or Midsomer Murders but the show has an interesting, likable set of characters who come and go over the course of the different years, moments of charming humour and is very watchable. A good, old fashioned police drama which has provided me with hours of viewing pleasure. By the way, I have also seen Sedes en Belli and Witse, which are entertaining too. Thank you TV1.

When "Flikken" first started in 1999, it was a very good show. But the second series were a lot worse, suddenly al the story lines were very unbelievable. But in the third series, it's getting better again! They introduced some new characters, and it's fun to watch again. But it's still not very realistic anymore. Next year, the fourth season will be shown, but it won't be the same again, with three major characters who are leaving (Axel Daeseleire, Cahit Ölmez and the always gorgeous Joke Devynck). On the other hand, the also always gorgeous Ann Ceurvels will be introduced, but still, they should stop the show now, while it's still popular, instead of keeping on going downhill.

It's a popular show here, which I really don't understand! It's produced by our national tv station (VRT), and I hope they don't think they have made something exeptional. It looks there's only a handfull of actors and actresses in this country. In every show, you see the same faces. I still think there are some good actors here, but it seems to me, that their talent is reduced by the director(s)! Most of the episodes lack a good story and tempo! But what bothers me the most is actress??, Andrea Cronenberg. Her acting and dialoges are so forced, and I hope she doesn't think she can sing. Two other shows that were shown on TV here, were of much better quality."Niet voor publicatie" and "Terug naar Oosterdonk".
  • It takes a while to settle down in the first couple of series, which are a bit like a Flemish 'Hill Street Blues', but it picks up later and by series 5 has some very good script writing and acting. Series 5 has a long plot over several episodes, so a good watch if you are housebound! It is all in Dutch (Flemish dialect) with no English subtitles available as far as I know (at least not on the YouTube versions).
  • The original and still the best Flikken series.
  • This series is the best Belgian production ever. I live in Ghent and we are all very proud on our city. The way this series (Flikken is about a police-department located in Ghent) shows our city to the world makes us all very happy. The series was supported by our own police-department to make it look realistic, and I think those officers did a great job. A few years ago, the name "Flikken" was a negative nickname for "cops" in dutch. Now, thanks to the series, it's considered as a compliment...
  • I love love love this show! I'm a teenager, and it's one of the few flemish shows we can actually watch with our whole family and with everyone liking it... It's a shame to see so many good characters leave, but they always seem to find new interesting people. I only hope that rumor of Andrea Croonenberghs quitting the show isn't true, because she's really an enormous asset to the show. The duo Pasmans and Raymond are so funny, their really a comic act on their own, big applause to them too. Really, if you speak dutch, or have subtitles in other languages, you should watch the show, it's pure entertainment every sunday night.
  • Why do people like this so much? It's just another police show where some actors and actresses play the good and the bad. It's said to be realistic, but what city's got so many murders in a month? The actors (and especially the actresses!) are not that good. Their fans, who know them from "Flikken", are fan because they just like "Flikken". I don't really think people would like Andrea Croonenberghs if she wasn't in "Flikken". The whole show is about here, too, when there are way better actors and actresses in "Flikken". If you like police shows, don't watch this one, but try "Crime Scene Investigation" or even "Luifel en Luifel".

This is a great cop-show: The story lines are good. It's not just about murder or rape. And it doesn't have an spectacular car-chase every episode, like some shows. It's more realistic. They also have to solve burglaries, shoplifting, assault, stalking, vandalism etc, etc., like real cops have to do. You also get to know more and more about the background of the characters. Almost all the actors are fabulous (some of them look good as well!-But they aren't models) and last but not least it has humour. In short: It's just fun!!

This is one of the best Belgium soaps!! Really! It has great actors and great storylines. And it's very realistic too.
  • "Flikken" is a Flemish cop television show. You can compare it with NYPD blue, except from the fact that Andy Scipowitz is far more better in playing his role than Andrea Croonenberghs does. She doesn't have the famous 'x-factor for actresses' although she tries very hard to cover it. She's nothing compared to great Belgian actresses as Jenny Thanghe, Dora Vandergroen and Chris Lomme. She's even nothing compared to younger actresses as Ann Ceurvels, Francesca Vanthielen, Joke Devinck etc...

She is however not the only one who, in my opinion can't act. Truth spoken, Rebecca Huls is even worse than Andrea is.

What I do like about the show, is that the civil life of a Flemish person is pretty good described. There are no superheroes among the 'flikken'-team, the show also shows kind of a psychological profile of its members (what was kind of new in such a Belgian production) and the chemistry between Pasmans and Raymond is very good, often hilarious in the beginning of the show.

When the show started to get boring, the characters predictable, they gave the role of chief (every season they changed the person) to Jo De Meyere, who already showed he was outstanding in such a role (Heterdaad). The introduction of Nauwelaerts (De Meyere) and the replacement of Daeseleire by Desmedt gave the show a new elan. De Meyere is like I stated in the title the finest actor Flemish television has ever known.

I think that the "Flikkken" series is something really excellent. The show has been running for 6 years, and with ever increasing audiences and appreciation.

Andrea has grown over the years in her role as police officer, and she is probably one of the best actresses around in Belgium.

Flikken is also popular in other countries. The series has more diverse plots then for instance "Baantjer". In "Baantjer", it is always the same: someone gets killed and they find the murderer in 40 minutes. This is boring!!!!

Andrea and colleagues: keep up the good work!
