Chilling. Inexplicable and chilling. Beautifully photographed, darkly funny at moments, and really frightening. It maintained a powerful air of absurdity and unease. Somewhere in between the mood created by moments of Lynch's lost highway and Roy Andersson's Songs From the Second Floor, both aesthetically speaking and in terms of the dark absurdity of the narrative.

    Wonderfully weird stuff.

I was really surprised by how drawn into it I became. I wanted it to be longer. Deffiinitely worth watching if you have the In My Skin DVD around. I found this short to be far more enjoyable than the feature on the DVD. While in my skin is undeniably jarring, and effective as far that is concerned, Alias seems to me to be much more beautifully shot and assembled; a really remarkable short work.
