    Warning: Spoilers
"Zwei Nikoläuse unterwegs" is an Eastern-German Christmas movie from the mid-1980s, telling the story of two divorced men who want to escape the Christmas atmosphere in a small village in the middle of nowhere but, through a series of events, end up saving the evening for a family they hadn't known before.

Somehow divorce seems to be a topic closely connected to Christmas in Eastern Germany or at least that's the picture you get through the movies. The beginning seems a bit helpless with one of the two main characters just screaming and behaving like an offended child but after a while the characters become a bit more realistic and begin to take part in a story that is somehow really cute and a bit funny as well. It really isn't high cinema and would be a TV-film nowadays, at best, but it gets you in the mood for Christmas and convinces you to see chances instead of problems.

All in all this isn't a blockbuster but a nice smaller production for people who don't need a lot of action or A-class actors to have a good time with a movie.
