  • A wonderful series that featured lawyer Sam Lucas as he takes on a Perry Mason role of being detective. It's a shame it didn't last longer than it did. It had so many moments that were in the style of a classic crime series. The acting of Ross Kemp, who effectively transforms from his Eastenders' Grant Mitchell type, really is a highlight and he gives a charming, strong portrayal of Sam Lucas, standing up for truth and justice. I would say it is the most underrated British TV series in a long time and I hope the producers could bring it back for at least another series so more people could enjoy this superior drama.

Well acted and scripted show that has one large flaw. The people whose cases are appealed ( at least in the first 2 episodes) are not worth saving, and I would bet that's why the show didn't last long. Better to have feel good mixed in with some reality.
  • A shame it wasn't renewed as it had great actors and interesting plot lines outside of the norm of crime shows. Particularly in the arena of cops shown with levels of corruption and getting away with it. Idris Elba in one of first roles, a brilliant actor.

    7/10.
