  • Someone said that this is exactly the same as DDLJ. The title might be similar and yes parts of the film was shot in Europe and a few scenes do resemble DDLJ. But the script is totally different, you will definitely not feel like you are watching a remake of DDLJ.

I think the Salman-Karisma jodi is very cute. They both did a good job. It's a fun, cute film, worth watching. Although I admit I skipped half of the songs to save time. Songs are not bad though. Plus we have a lot of good supporting actors like Anupam and Johny. So it's not boring, will keep you engaged.

The first half is about how the couple fall in love. The second half is about how they convince Karisma's uncles to agree to the marriage.

I like this movie, do have a watch if you like Salman and or Karisma.
  • This one is quite a typical David Dhawan comedy. It's silly, it's unoriginal, it's flawed, it's predictable, but, at the end o it all, it's still fun. So why should one care for this movie's weaknesses if they can just enjoy its biggest strength? Well, yes, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge takes inspiration from numerous famous films, it may be annoying, but it works as a film thanks to its comedy which provides quite a few laughs, its light presentation, music and star cast. Salman and Karisma are the lead pair, and they are good looking, funny and charismatic. Karisma is just sizzling every time she appears on-screen. Salman is very good in a role that is actually what he is most used to playing. Three of my favourite actors, Om Puri, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal play Karisma's loving uncles. All three are fantastic, but the one who delivers the most entertaining performance is Anupam Kher with his gay act. He's hilarious. Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge is nothing exceptional, but it's enjoyable. It flows very well with the songs and the laughs and is ultimately a great watch for the entire family.

This movie has taken inspiration from the classic Dil hai ki manta nahi starring Pooja Bhatt and Aamir Khan. The entire scene where Sapna (Karishma) runs away and acts spoilt, gets her bag stolen and then misses the bus was a copy from the movie, only this time done very badly. Salman irritates me in this movie and very obviously violates Sapna by following her and jumping in her bed with her, all of this which is supposedly "cool" and something women should find charming. Salmaan slapping her was very unnecessary. I didnt even bother watching the rest of the movie due to the bad plot and Salmaans cardboard acting. The music was good but otherwise its not something I would ever watch again even if i was bored.

very awful movie looks like jumping monkey & crawling tiger which always suit this movie's leading pair. in which leading actor wants to show off his body for any cost & without any reason in foreign country the people wears more clothes because of cold but our darling hero has volcano of heat & our dear heroine has also dumb acting skills & overacting done to death. all other actors like annum Khmer who perform as gay . other one is a bald guy & a wrestler who wants to crush everyone. now what rest in this movie the cut piece of crap & no one wants to spend his hard earning money for such call garbage movie. I have one advice leave this movie alone .

Why I ask them? Why? Okay, try saying the title of this film and that of DDLJ ten times fast. It's like, you just have to wonder how somebody could conceive to make a film like this, with such a similar title and storyline to DDLJ, and worse yet, develop it, market it and put it out there for people like you and I to watch! It is just pathetic blatant plagiarism! The scenes copied from DDLJ are too many to count but let me just name a few: 1. Boy and girl meet while traveling in Europe (specifically in Switzerland) 2. Girl's family doesn't want her to marry Boy 3. Adventures in Europe before going back home to face the music 4. The title! :-/ 5. Girl is all prim and proper, waiting for her prince to come 6. Anupam Kher is here again!!! Okay, so he's gay, but he's here again! 7. Boy is so sure he will get the girl in the end. Just to mention a few! The worst scene was when Raja (Salman Khan) slapped Sapna (Karishma Kapoor) and her response is to break out in song, apologising to him for her Un-Indian-womanlike behaviour. Um, okay! I take it it's very Indian for a man to land tight slaps on a woman's face at will and expect her to sit there and take it. It might work for India, but it doesn't for the rest of the world. The two stars I managed to give it are for Karishma Kapoor's presence and great style/dance in the film.
  • Dulhan hum le jayenge is one of the Worst Bollywood Films of the year. Salman Khan was making a series of Flops like Hello Brother and Pyar kiya to darna kiya. Both movies, Salman gave a lousy performance, which he usually doe not do. Karishma Kapoor has also made many Flops, add another on her career. Every Karishma movie in her entire career, she always acts immature in at least one scene. This movie is an example of her acting childish, unrealistic and very immature. She is the type of actress mainly for the younger audience or for girls that dream a lot. If i see Karishma i will kich her arse. David Dhawan has given us many entertaining movies, but sadly he disappoints. The supporting cast were OK. Johnny Lever, Kader Khan, Anupom Kher, Paresh Rawail and Om Puri are funny as usual. There is one good song, which is why i gave the movie a 2/10 instead of 1/10. Salman delivers a dreadful performance as the man that loves taking his shirt of for know damn reason. Karishma is dreadful as usual, I'm so glad she retired, and made a Super Flop comeback. This is a complete garbage and not worth the watch.
  • Salman- DD made several films together since JUDWAA(1997) which was a good comedy and then BIWI No.1 which was okay DULHAN HUM LE JAYENGE(2000) however is too ordinary to speak of

The plot is nothing great, though DD's films never have anything great plotwise but here nothing actually stands out

The comedy too is too overdone, the sub plot of Deepak Tijori irritates more so after the suspense is unveiled

There is lot of portions similar to DIL HAI KI MAANTA NAHIN(1991) the romance, comedy nothing actually stands out

There are some few scenes which are funny and the chemistry of Salman- Karisma but only a few

Direction by David Dhawan is below average Music is good

Salman just goes through his part with no effort, though he is much more likable then what crap he does nowdays Karisma is decent and pairs off well with him Amongst rest Om Puri and Paresh Rawal are good in their parts even Anupam Kher is funny Satish Kaushik irritates Deepak Tijori is okay in a nonsense role Kashmira annoys Kader Khan and Farida are pleasant
  • First 20 mins is really good of this film I thought this was going to be a good comedy ride but after that the story completely falls flat as if the writer forgets to write the story and they are just rushed to complete this film.

David Dhawan in terms of presentation and cinematography is brilliant but in terms of story & screenplay totally unbearable.

Last 20 mins is so dull that I have to skip the film to complete it.

It wasn't my cup of tea to complete it. No storyline weak screenplay and tons of overacting by the actors.

It's not the actors fault because if you don't have the good script or at least an average script what an actor can do except for just acting.

Songs & Karishma Kapoor beauty is the only highlights of the film rest is complete torture & mess.

Even in 2000 there are lots of good movies in terms of this mess. I thought after similar screenplay like DDLJ at least they could do was give a proper comedy but in that thing also they failed.

I have a headache after the end of the film it was that bad.

Acting was like overacting for me except Karishma Kapoor she is the only one that shines throughout the film rest are just average.

Overall a complete torture in terms of comedy and routine story.

If you want to watch just go for songs and skip the rest....

This movie is the BEST.Better then 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.Salman and Karishma combination was one of the BEST performance I ever saw.Salman's and Karishma's body language were AMAZING.And also thumbs up for Anupam Kher who star's as one of Sapna's(Karishma in the movie)uncle. The song were nice.Hope to see Salman and Karishma movie in the future.

Sapna (Karisma Kapoor) has been raised by three strict uncles, who have three separate ideas of what would make a good husband for her. Stifled under their protection, she runs away for a European tour, during which she meets Raja (Salman Khan). They fall in love, and on their return to India, scheme for a way to make all three of her uncles agree to the match.

Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge is a cute romantic comedy with little meat to the plot, but with good acting from Kapoor, Khan, and the supporting cast. Kapoor and Khan have excellent chemistry and matching energy, and make an engaging couple. The songs weren't above average, with the exception of Hai Na Bolo, which made a lovely finale. Overall, this isn't a particularly memorable film, but is fun fluff.
