  • I had reviewed the movie before and maybe because i was in a bad mood had given it a pretty negative review. I have since changed my mind. The movie is definitely not realistic in its portrayal, rather it operates on a poetic level with a feminine view of life. Logic is not the strong point, but rather the overall effect. It's about a young woman moving from the country to a big city and her adventures there with a hardened, capitalistic crowd. She finds love and trials to test her, in the end coming out happy with a lover. I RECOMMEND watching this movie, as it is an above par story of a woman's journey, set in the exotic (for me) country of Budapest.
  • basically, a rural girl moves to the big city and hangs out with all the wrong people, like a friend who gives blow jobs to wanna be gangsta's, a security guard guy who acts like a hick, but almost rapes the lead and other small time totally stupid criminals...i do not recommend this movie at all, it's not real by any angle. in its depiction of the rural to city move or in terms of any of the people in the film. the dialogue doesn't make sense many times and the scenes are choppy. the only rescuing grace is that it's hungarian and gives us a small glimpse of what goes on over there. oh! the end is the worst ever, i can't tell you what it is, but you are definitely going to go what the hell!!!! geocities.com/free_love98
  • It was festival and kind of old time show. We checked this movie with group of visitor, quite interesting and hard to handle.

Some of the staff from group were unrolled after movie whose age young. So it is kind of seeing the world from underside. Young girl moving from the country side to a Budapest city and her adventures there with a hard and taffy. Finding love and in the end coming out happiness.

It is worth watch this movie for understanding middle Balkans culture and their life. How people having taffy times in big cities. Everybody in the movie is superficial, as are all emotions. when they are happy-funny they are too happy-funny and when they are sad they are sad-gray. There is no good balance and of course no link to real life. the who was the best actor for me and who wanted to run away from the problems .

Reminded me of one of my favorite all time movies Dreamlife of Angels. Lead actress was fantastic. It is enternal story of the innocent small town girl moving to the rough big city. Gave an insight into Budapest today and its youth. I highly recommend it.
  • Great film from Hungary. Feels like an American film, cool, hip, urban yet Hungarian. Eye opening, eastern europeans are cool. Reminded me of another of my favorites - "The Dream Life of Angels". Lead actress gives a warm innocent performance that makes the film.
  • Warning: Spoilers
From the beginning we are in an unreal world, we see our young heroine (Anika) head off to the big city with her mother's blessing to stay with her friend and hopefully win the man of her dreams. The shots are warm and colourful with tints almost never seen in nature.

It doesn't quite work like that, she has to work in a factory and it becomes clear that the man of her dreams is an elusive being, even her friend's perfect man proves not to be. Works is hard and she fights with her friend who has changed and become totally immersed in the city. Still somehow Anika keeps her innocence and the final sequence of her flying away in a car is indicative of how she can fly above the coarse world around.
