    Warning :Spoilers

I said this movie is bad but much better than most movies of that time period. 90's was the time of mindless action cinema. 9 out of every 10 films are silly action films better known as masala movies . Daag -The fire is among the watchable movies of that era.

Ravi Verma is a ruthless, corrupt business. Satyaprakash is arrested for a crime that in reality, is committed by Ravi Verma. Karan, Satyaprakash's son went to kill him accidentally shot his wife. She died. Ravi lost all his memories but remembers Kajal(His wife). His friends found his wife's doppleganger that could help him on his road to recover. Ravi, comes to know what he did in the past, regrets his own crimes and decides to give justice to Satyaprakash. But his son, Karan wants to kill him. Will Satyaprakash get justice or Ravi gets killed before that?

I just loved the idea of the film. But the execution is bar from being good.

Characters are just insanely emotional . Jhumri, a look alike of dead wife of Ravi Verma talks in a very irritating manner at the start but then turns into a great wife for Ravi and even his accent gets changed suddenly. She completely ignores her real family for her new husband and it is totally acceptable. Karan came home despite all the security only to get a Rakhi tied from her sister. His brother is so dedicated to his duty that he can kill his Karan and will not drop a single tear. The new Ravi Verma just became so good that he is ready to sacrifice his family. At the end, everyone involved in the case gets punished except Ravi. Why?And how? Cause he's a hero now? These are logical flaws and irregularities in the film.
  • Here's what this movie is about: Chandruchur Singh plays a lawyer named Ravi who is married to Mahima Choudary's character, Kajol. Ravi put's Karan's (sanjay Dutt) dad in jail dor something he did not do and his dad dies. Karan wants revenge so he kills Kajol (ravi's wife). And it gets really interesting from there.

This movie has good acting, awesome music and a really good story line! I recommend however's reading this to go to the video store right now and rent this movie! CH

After Afzal Khan's disaster Mahaanta and a few other flops due to Sanju's jail period. Dutt gives his best performance in the 90's before Vaastav and Kurukshetra. Daag The Fire released after all of Dutt's delayed crap films from the jail period. But, this film also wasn't a perfect movie. The storyline has a good start introducing the advocate and him fighting against crime. But, the clash between Singh and Dutt don't happen for a while making the film boring because of lame romance and a few comic reliefs. But, the movie catches up when Singh puts Sanju's father in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Plus, to make matters worse Dutt's father gets tortured and dies in prison by Sachin Khedkar and his corrupt cops. Sanju doesn't know who did this but as he learns more about Singh's connection to this he kills him and his wife in broad daylight. Singh survives but Kajal dies. The clash continues with more twists and turns and several flaws though the film is well handled. Then, when Singh and Dutt work together and find the real culprit but Singh doesn't want Dutt to take the law on his hands. The movie forms a good climax. The last hour of the movie, Sanju is arrested and he breaks out of prison. He runs to the court and finshes the villain and the movie ends. The film is a typical bollywood film but Kanwar's handling is top class. Performances are good from each actor/actress. The scenes have been editied averagely and could have been better made. But, the movie is still good.
