Boring, poorly made fake porn documentary
Teamed with the even worse DIAMOND HEAD on Vol. 98 of Something Weird's Dragon Art Theatre series, SEXUS IN PARADISE is a Honolulu-shot porn film pretending to be a hidden-camera documentary.
People romping on the beach and a tour of so-called "Hell's Half Acre" where we're told Honolulu prostitution has thrived since World War II constitute the educational part of our program. The boring part is a poorly-edited and synched interview with "Angela Poussé", an overweight and untalented blonde stripper whose life story is endlessly uninteresting, and whose anecdotes are repeated twice, with alternate takes included by mistake, for the hard of hearing.
Bulk of the footage was undoubtedly shot back in L.A. on the usual motel room interior sets, highlight of which is a lesbian tryst by supposedly "librarian" (!) roommates Starlyn Simone and Andy Bellamy, who are nearly lookalikes as styled here. A hairy, tattoo-ed and well-hung guy played by George Peters later enters to give the girls a cigar (as dildo) and then gets serviced simultaneously by the two superstar beauties in the film's arousing climax.
Two extremely busty, dark-nippled beauties roll around outside with some guy in another threesome scene -one of them is Annette Michael playing a honeymooner. Final sex scene has a prostitute making it with two guys, with the SWV print typically ending abruptly midway through this sequence.
A couple of unintentional mysteries remain: during the driving around footage displaying the Forbidden City nightclub and other local color a theater marquee downtown trumpets "Hundred Dollar Wife", a film title not in IMDb {NOTE: This title was added with "One" prefix years later, and I have reviewed it.}. The as-always inaccurate hack notes on the SWV video box mistake Starlyn for Mindy Brandt.
Film is now attributed in the database as the work of Hall of Fame level director Bob Chinn.
