Two tigers are separated as cubs and taken into captivity, only to be reunited years later as enemies by an explorer (Pearce) who inadvertently forces them to fight each other.
Animatronic tigers were used in any scene that might involve any real risk to the actors. Five full-size adult tigers were built for the film.

The opening shot of the movie has a Toco Toucan in it and the movie is set in Cambodia. The Toco Toucan is native to South America.
