  • For our international friends, Ed the Sock is a grey sock puppet, with green hair, round eyes, smokes a cigar and has a voice you would imagine coming from a raunchy sailor. What makes Ed The Sock so special is his off the cuff & innuendo laden humour. Some of the things he has said on his show are priceless! "Ed's Night Party" is taped with a live studio audience in the ChumCity building at City TV in Toronto. It's set-up like a talk show, and is complete with go-go dancers, and a hot tub that a chosen studio guest can share with some heavenly honeys! His guests (usually videotaped) range from some big Hollywood names all the way over to porno stars. Usually, Ed visits some far off destination like Fort Lauderdale to report on the festivities, and take in some wholesome wet t-shirt or chug-a-lug contest.

Not only does Ed The Sock have this TV show, he has proven to be pretty talented in other facets of TV. Some of his achievements are the "Fromage Awards" held annually at Much Music where he celebrates some the the cheesiest videos from the past year. He has also released a CD. Ed got his start on the local community access channel, then climbed aboard the ranks at City TV to spread his rye & funny sense of humour to a larger audience. For someone that has been a fan of Ed The Sock since his "Cable 10" days, it's great to see him get the exposure that he justly deserves.
  • This show was great back when it was on TV on City TV late nights every Friday. It had a rude and funny cigar smoking sock puppet who would just rant about whatever it was that was on his mind that day. Usually that was something most every day people would agree with like how people walking slow in front of you suck, that kind of stuff. He had a couple co-hosts over the different seasons but they were good. The last one was a guy named Craig who was very funny and did a good job making his own jokes with Ed the Sock but also listening to Ed's rants and making them better with additional jokes.

It was just a late night show on a cheap dark set with no audience and a big fake laugh track and girls dancing or in the hot tub or sometimes both and sometimes they would get topless and most of them were good looking.

Where the show fell apart was when they got their first female co-host who apparently is also the real life wife of Ed the Sock or the guy who is the voice behind Ed the Sock or whatever. She was terrible! She had very big boobs but that was about it. All her jokes were awful and she talked way too much. It's like everything had to be about her. The show didn't last long after she came on and I'm sure that's a big reason why. The show just wasn't the same after that and it died. It's sad because it was so good at first.

Yeah I was fooled into thinking this was a good show. Sure there are scantily clad women and a killer sock puppet, but sometime while watching this show I suddenly realized it wasn't funny. It becomes almost depressing when you realize it is being filmed in an empty studio with just some girls and a hot tub. The laugh track is added to make it seem like there is an audience. There are no celebrity guests apart from the Celebrity Edcounters. The show just doesn't work.
