  • "Lykkevej" would probably best be translated as the "road of happiness". A middelaged woman's world is shattered, as her husband reveals his affair with a co-worker and they separate. From being a housewife with the luxuries of a picture-perfect home and wealth, she suddenly plunges herself into a neighborhood, whose biggest issue is her new neighbor, who haven't cleaned up on his side of the pavement for 5 years. The new strange neighbor with peculiar habits intrigues her and even though people on the road talks, she makes an effort in getting to know the strange new neighbor, despite of what everyone else thinks.

This is a story about finding yourself, getting on your feet, breaking social barriers and live life, even though your scared.

Its beautiful, that's what I thought, when i saw it.
  • I saw this film today (31/1-2003) at the Göteborg film festival and i it was quite good. As many other Danish movies it is rather is beginnes with a tragic divorce there Sara leaves her cheating husband and rents a house outside Copenhagen. Here can we follow her when she is interacting with her new neighbours and falls in love with one of them. It is a nice and warm film, nothing more and nothing less. It is well worth seeing. 7.5 of 10 points.

This is a movie that makes you feel so good. Sara is an older woman living a protected life with her wealthy husband until he tells her he has found another woman. When they divorce she gets nothing. She moves to a little house that is not well-kept. Here she has to do everything which she is definitely not used to. She has to work which she has not done in ages and her resume is not at all up to date. "Lykkevej" ("Happiness Road") is a quiet little road with people who does NOT mind their own business – except for Robert who is the black sheep of "Lykkevej" – he is a 15 year old younger man who has a lot of problems. Please try this movie out if you feel like smiling and singing for the rest of the day... ;-)

Salsa and a happy ending...what more could one ask for? Tried and true Hollywood plot but with refreshing Danish characters. A bit of dance...a bit of humor...and a bit of love.

I watched whole move with big joy and was kind of stuck to the screen. Story wasnt unpredictable but felt a easy flow in it. Its my first review cause i really liked the movie a lot. Liked main character and her part in it and how easy it felt with these hard and heavy emotions. Every character had its own points and turns but in the end it was only about love and what makes you happy about life, relationship, and persistance. The harsh reallity is not this movies point. Sad that there is low raitings too, but anyway its matters of the taste and this move i liked. Thank you and hope you enjoy it too!
