Based on a story by producer Hal Roach himself, this is one of no less than 241 director credits for James W. Horne. Glenn Tryon plays a young man in love with the super-lovely Fay Wray, much to the disgust of her dad (James Finlayson), who thinks – with a fair degree of accuracy – that young Tryon is a nincompoop. Although it wears out its welcome on a third or fourth viewing, this two-reel short is not only an entertaining outing in itself, but absolute must viewing for Fay Wray fans. She looks enticing and delivers her usual spirited but highly believable performance. Tryon, on the other hand, seems a little uncomfortable as the fake female – which is actually a point in his favor. Good to see Charlie Hall as one of the deck hands. This movie is included as one of the ten shorts in Alpha's "Silent Comedy Marathon Volume 5". The print is okay, but ends a little abruptly.
