"Pasion de Gavilanes"(Passion of hawks) has been one of the the most famous and adored telenovelas in the world recently.Millions of people all over the world enjoyed it.Many of them don't like the so called telenovelas but they fell in love with this one.Lots of trashy soap operas annoy the audience so "Pasion de Gavilanes" was a real present for romantic people who don't want to watch banal and slushy films.Because this one is neither banal nor slushy. And there are a few reasons.
1)First of all-the plot. Many telenovelas have very clichéd scenarios about a poor but very sweet girl who falls in love with a handsome, wealthy man.But here the things are different. The plot is interesting and surprising with a lots of action and suspense.
2)The characters-in "Pasion de Gavilanes" each character has their own personality and charm. In most telenovelas characters are either perfect or very, very bad.In "Pasion de Gavilanes" there are no such implausible heroes. Each character has both good and bad qualities -there are no ideal persons or monsters. Each of the characters develops and changes throughout the episodes.
3)There is plenty of humor in every episode, lots of comic scenes and funny characters.
4)The music score is great-a lot of nice songs which make the atmosphere pleasant. There is a CD with the songs available on Amazon.
5)Well, the actors are great-both the protagonists and the supporting characters are played by very nice actors-the three sisters are really beautiful-the stunning Paola Rey,the charming and very talented Natasha Klauss and the tender Danna Garcia.Mario Cimarro,Michell Brown and Juan Alphonso Baptista are very good as well.Impressive performance by Lorena Meritano as well-she plays the cruel Dinorah with a style.
So, "Pasion de Gavilanes" is passionate and erotic in a way-but it is also very romantic and touching as love itself...

I think that Pasion de Gavillanes is like the only telenovela that I actually enjoyed watching, My Spanish teacher showed us the first episode in class because she wanted us to actually learn some "street Spanish", and everyday after that we would beg her to show us the rest. It was just so interesting. I think the relationship between Norma and Juan is really strong. Like I absolutely love them together.
It's so interesting to watch because the show doesn't just focus on one single point. Instead it sort of puts everything together. Like it has everyones problems instead of just one problem that is surrounded by mini episodes.

If youre a fan of the telenovela then this will tick all the boxes for you. Its a pleasing story and contains all the craziness, romance, action and sloppy kissing you would expect. It does have its tedious and morally questionable moments, but its a light hearted colombian soap opera that is not meant to be taken seriously.

Pasion DE Gavilanes or Pasion DE Amor as shown here in the Philippines is a very distinct and one of a kind telenovela. Though the Philippines have been exposed to all kinds of Spanish/Mexican telenovelas, this one touched my heart. Why? Well because of the following reasons: 1. The story does not revolve in one character only. Each of the love story as well as the history of the telenovela takes turn in the camera allowing viewers to see the picture as a whole and not just the love scene.
2. Each character have strong and distinct personalities that you would not get tired of watching. Many viewers could identify themselves in the characters of the telenovela.
3. The story is unique and not boring. Every episode has its unique twists and turns.
4. The chemistry among the characters are sizzling hot!! **Unfortunately, the show is shown every afternoon and I am not able to catch it everyday. I just hope that I could find a DVD copy of this with English subtitle...

I found out about this Telenovela while watching the remake "Tierra de Reyes". It was ok..... But when my mom told me about the "Pasion de Gavilanes" I was curious. Searching it up it is like the remake but watching it was soooooooooo much better than the remake. This Telenovrla is very thrilling ,exciting and each of the guys and girls have very unique personality. This isn't a cliche novela and the characters don't fall in love immediately it takes time. LOVE IT AND ONE OF THE
BEST TELENOVELAS TELEMUNDO HAS EVER MADE.

I watched this novela when I was very young and actually re watched it again during the pandemic in 2021. It is without a doubt one of the best telenovelas I have ever watched in my life, it had amazing cast that nailed their characters perfectly especially the grandpa (Jorge Cao) they also had awesome chemistry especially Sarita and Franco (Natasha and Michel) plus the storyline was extremely unique and had some twists and turns
You can imagine, my excitement when I learned that they was a revival in the works in late 2021 but the sad truth is that season 2 is extremely boring, dull and lacks the great chemistry that set apart season 1 from the rest. I would have given it a 10/10 rating but season 2 has ruined everything for me.

I first saw "Pasion De Gavilanes" back in the spring of 2004 when we finally got Telemundo on my satellite provider(Dishnetwork at that time) at my house. The only two actors that I was already familiar with were Mario Cimarro and Paola Rey. The rest of the cast such as Danna Garcia, Natasha Klauss, J. Alfonso Baptista, Michel Brown, Kristina Lilley, Juan Pablo Shuk, Jorge Cao, Zharick Leon and Ana Lucia Dominguez, I would become familiar with during and after this novela. During its original airing, I watched the novela on and off. Then when Telemundo re-aired "PDG" on weekday afternoons in January, 2005, I started watching the novela seriously. During that time, I became a serious fan of "PDG" that I bought the soundtrack CD and I even bought the DVD of "PDG" when it was released in 2006(although a lot of footage from the TV version was taken out of the DVD). And "Pasion De Gavilanes" was the first telenovela that I ever watched that was from Colombia. Up until "PDG" came along, the majority of telenovelas that I've watched were either from Mexico(Televisa) and Venezuela(Venevision). Sure, I was already familiar with Telemundo. But with "PDG", I became familiar with RTI and Caracol(the Colombian production companies that produced this telenovela for Telemundo). And I also know that "PDG" was a remake of "Las Aguas Mansas" which was released in either 1994 or 1995. And I also saw "Fuego en la Sangre" which was the Mexican(Televisa)remake of both versions that was shown on Univision in 2008 and re-aired on Telefutura in 2010/2011 and is also available on DVD as well. And, in my opinion, that version was good too. All I can say about "Pasion De Gavilanes" is that it was a very good telenovela and hopefully it can be known as one of the best telenovelas that has aired on television.

I am well into Pasion de Gavilanes, when I turn on HULU and they substitute the newer remake. I watch an episode. Awful, compared to the original. The original has a much better story line, better actors, better photo color, better characters....and I can tell the characters apart. The newer one...all the men look alike. The women are not vibrant and do not fit their parts. Grandpa is a dud.
Now I see that there was another remake, Gavilanes, and perhaps I'll give that a look-see. But it will be AFTER I finish with the original and best. Even the comic relief is great. Grandpa is a great character and plays his part to the hilt, as does The Gay Lover, Leandro.

This could have been brilliant with the most beautiful women ever in a tv series.
The overall plot was promising but became totally ridiculous. The behaviour of the mother towards her daughters was disgusting and disgraceful particularly the daughter who was forced into marriage after being raped. Her husband continually assaulted her and yet all the daughters stayed in the house even when they had the opportunity to leave.
The inference that these women were so stupid and unfeeling that they would stay there rather than live with their husband/partners was insulting.
I could go on but when it descended into farce I started to fast forward and didn't miss anything.
The only redeeming feature was the beauty of the actresses who get 10 and pulled up the overall score.
Danna, Ana Lucia, Paola, Natasha and Zharack will always be favourites of mine

Entertaining for awhile and then the ridiculous overacting and situations finally got to me. Norma and Juan the main characters, who seem pretty smart in the first episodes, become clueless and believe every evil person over any common sense. I became frustrated with constant bad advice they believed that kept them apart. The mother were just downright evil. Lots of really nosy, interfering family members and lots of really bad acting. I wasn't really entertained, just mad at the characters' stupidity most of the time. The actor that played the grandfather stole the show and was the best actor.

Temporada 2, tanta violencia contra las mujeres. Las mujeres débiles y hombres machistas, ¿no hemos evolucionado de este tipo de narraciones? La iluminación en las escenas es mayormente oscura. Agradable=NO.

Only talking about the original 2003 telenovela. The sequel can (and should) be skipped and it's totally fine. The story is introduced and told clearly with 4 distinctive arcs that make the plot easy to follow. The characters are well defined and the latter half of the story is amazingly well told and displayed. The villains are so hateable that you end up rooting for the protagonists even when they're not that likeable, but that's also good - no need for the clichéd superhero telenovela male protagonist (even though Juan Reyes sort of is that, but he does have a personality and his character has motivations). The setting is a bit generic (which is why many people wrongly believe this telenovela to be Mexican), and it may have needed a bit more fun - but overall it's great and a true testament to its own success. Season 2 deserves a separate not too friendly review.

Have watched both season 1 and 2 on Netflix with English subtitles. And still fell in love with the wonderful cast and plot.
A must watch for those into a combination of Drama, Romance and Action !
Hoping that there is a Season 3 as well ! Please Telemondo.

Infuriating:
Although there are many good points to this series, there are some bad ones as well. For example the writers will ramp up the tension and then create a possible resolution to whatever the issue is. The writer will get your hopes up and then dash them time and time again. I'm not a big fan of this writing style. By the time you are deep into the story you naturally start to care about the characters. Then you have to wait 20 episodes for a conflict to be resolved. At the same time they throw in lighthearted moments as well so that tends to balance things out a bit.
Cheesy: Especially in the beginning this telenovela uses all the tropes and cliches you might expect. There are plenty of scenes with half dressed men and women but it never takes it too far. Even the sex scenes are tame by today's standards. There are also scenes that just seem completely ridiculous. Fortunately not too many of them.
Awesome: Overall, I really liked this series! The writing is superb. Great character development and a unique and engaging story. This series has everything you can imagine, from death and destruction to intricate love stories. There is plenty of action and things that will keep you interested in seeing the next episode. Although a lot of deep issues are explored, it always remembers to have fun at the same time. Lots of ups, and downs, plot twists and harrowing situations. It managed to keep my interest for 188 episodes.
Update: I was able to get through 3 1/2 episodes of Season 2 before I just couldn't take it anymore. Although it was interesting to see how the characters look 20 years later, that wears off fast. This is more of a straight drama that revolves around Juan's 2 "bad seed" kids. The chemistry between the characters is gone and it's just not interesting. Remember Juan and Norma's blond haired child from the original series? Well, he's all grown up and now his hair is jet black. I guess that says it all.
Rating for Season 2: 5.

I loved watching a classic telenovela with everything - romance, envy, evil, good, bad etc. Of course there are lots of cultural elements that some people will not understand but the most important message is that love and family overcome evil and obstacles. This is a classic must see for those of us who love Latino culture, the spanish language and message about the power of love and family.
Pasión de Gavilanes has more than 200 episodes available to watch right now, featuring both the acclaimed first season and the sequel season. So at least fans have plenty of content to revisit whenever they're missing the show and want to see what the Reyes and Elizondo families are doing - give yourself plenty of time to binge both season one and season 2.

They should left it eith the first season and hire better actors from Colombia for the second season. The role of Muriel the daughter of Rosario Montes ( Sharik Leon) is the worst actrees we have nowdays. Such a poor profesionalism and in all of her titles, so regular in roles as a teenager or as a woman and cant understand why she has one of the main characters for this serie. Nice trama but Camila Rojas is the worst actress we have even her body is not proportional and her roles are all forced to be played. The last season would be better if it was with other actors of Colombia which are not necessarily trending. To approach the new talent and not show internationally the worst.
I fell in love with this show years ago, and to find out after 10 years a new series came out was a blessing in my life. The acting and the depth of their connection to portray their characters is incredible. I have admiration for all the actors, directors as well as everyone involved in putting this show together. I never write reviews, but I felt it so necessary to show my appreciation considering the effort that has been put into this series. I hope there will be another season, Its worth diving into, it involves so much suspense, excitement, drama, action ect and the way it evokes so many emotions. 10/10.

"Pasion De Gavilanes" is the best Spanish-speaking soap that I've seen so far. The casting was perfect, the story engaging and the love scenes beautiful. The Sara&Franco romance was quite a surprise and the actors playing them; Natasha Klauss and Michel Brown, were really charismatic and managed to steal the show from the other leads and conquer my heart. After "Pasion De Gavilanes" Danna Garcia, Paola Rey, Mario Cimarro and Juan Alfonso Baptista went on to star in their own respective "telenovelas". I don't know why Natasha Klauss and Michel Brown have still not gotten their own "telenovela". I fervently wished that Telemundo would produce a soap with these two actors again as leads. I know that I for one wouldn't have missed an episode.

This soap opera is currently showing in Malaysia and we are all clearly enjoying it! The background setup is beautiful and so are the characters... It has its heated and humorous moments. I consider this telenovela to be one of the best ones I've seen. It definitely grabbed the prize for best pictures to me, not to mention best kisses.. Even the part before the commercials are attention grabbers.. If only hey sold the CD here i'd buy it!!!
The story line pretty much revolves around three drop-dead gorgeous brothers and their relationships in a close-knit community.. Lots of horses and horsing around.. I think they fall for the three stunning sisters (a coincidence too obvious to ignore..).. Kinda tacky but i seriously hope they get together. Watch their developments throughout the whole show...^_^
If you're looking for something steamy and a tickler, this is the soap opera for you! (If you want tear-jerking scenes, you're better suited to Korean series.. I've wasted too many tears on those just to see the leading stars die in one way or another...)

If you like the comment that Venus said about this show. You can watch it again. You can watch Pasion DE Gavilanes at 1:00 pm pacific standard time in Telemundo. This show is great and you should watch it even is you don't speak Spanish fluently. I love this story very much. And I hope you all will like it because it has touched my heart and I know it is going to touch yours. This story is about three brothers who lost their beloved sister when was treat badly my her lover's family. They become angry and seek revenge. However, they did not find it but they found love. This soap opera is a remake of a 1994 soap opera called Las Aguas mansas. I have not watched that soap but hopefully it is as good as this soap.
Eversince, i have saw the movie Passion De Amor (Philippines), i cant' help but to follow it through no matter how difficult it is to find time to watch it in the afternoon. I love the movie, i love the main characters, the Reyes brothers and sister, and Elizondo sisters.I really admired how wonderfully they played their individual roles. I also admired the romance of Juan Reyes and Norma Elizondo which brought them to test but they proved it with their child Juan David. The other characters were also admirable in doing their roles to contribute a beautiful story. When i surf in the internet, i found out that the movie was in Spanish, which is difficult for me to understand. I am hoping that someday i could a CD or DVD of it in English or Filipino. I am also made a review on Spanish because i dream that i could chat or even talk with the main characters if they could not speak in English. I also wish I Could have a posters of everyone of them.
