A strange black entity from another world bonds with Peter Parker and causes inner turmoil as he contends with new villains, temptations, and revenge.
The film's visual effects designer, Scott Stokdyk, created a miniature of a skyscraper section at 1/16th scale, instead of using CGI, to save time and costs, and so that damage done to the building could be portrayed realistically.

Seeing as how the symbiote can mimic clothing, why does Peter bother buying clothes during the montage sequence?
During the opening credits, snippets from the first two films can be seen. Also, some of the filmmaker's names appear and then blow away, as if made of sand. The black symbiote also makes a brief appearance.
