Another "We're All in this Together" propaganda short.

This half-reel cartoon was produced by the Walt Disney organization to tout the importance of farming in the war effort -- if we don't eat, we can't fight very well -- and to offer us some unlikely images to underline how prolific American farms were: enough corn to stretch from London to Istanbul, enough milk to make a cheese about the tenth the size of the moon, and other fanciful images, sure to amuse as well as inform.

The animation involved is minimal. It looks fairly obvious that this was produced at high speed and minimal expense. There's a war on, you know! Now, go raise some wheat.

This is one of my top-three all-time favorite D films . . .

. . . as it still resonates in March, 2022. Today's viewers can easily replace the double broken cross symbols and the Fuhrer bowling pin with images of the Hammer & Sickle and "Mad Vladimir's" Z-tanks pulverizing the peaceful citizens of Ukraine. In fact, the narration of FOOD WILL WIN THE WAR is so apt and inspiring that I took the time tonight to write down in longhand EVERY word of it--almost filling four lined sheets. Now that most rational people are recognizing America's once (in 1861) respectable Elephantine Political Party as the current egregious incarnation of the U. S. Communist puppet masters, this brief documentary can serve as a source of inspiration while the normal average loyal patriotic true blue union label Common Men and Women wage the imminent Civil War fighting once again for hero President FDR's Four Freedoms.
