Fox Look, a new unit of Fox Networks Group that specializes in unscripted projects, has inked distribution deals with four Emmy-winning U.S.-based format producers: Craig Piligian, Andrew Glassman, Scott Sternberg and Scott Satin. Under the agreements, Fox Look will rep selected formats on the international market, beginning with the upcoming Mipcom trade show in Cannes.
Piligian helped transform reality TV as executive producer of CBS' "Survivor" and went on to produce "Dirty Jobs," which has aired on Discovery for five seasons; "The Ultimate Fighter," now heading into season 12 on Spike TV; and the paranormal franchise "Ghost Hunters," now in its sixth season on Syfy.
Glassman's showreel includes NBC's "Average Joe," which attracted 25 million viewers to its first season finale, and "Three Wishes," named "the most family friendly show on broadcast television."

Crime paid once again for CBS on Wednesday. The eye network easily won the night on the strength of 9 p.m. drama Criminal Minds, which drew 15.3 million viewers and 4.7 rating/12 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, and 10 p.m.'s CSI: NY (16.1 million, 5.5/15), according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. ABC was CBS' nearest competitor on the 18-49 side, thanks to the 9 p.m. repeat of Lost (8.1 million, 3.1/8). NBC's highest marks of the night came at 10 p.m. with the encore of Law & Order (9.4 million, 3.0/8). Fox didn't have much to shout about either with comedies That '70s Show (6.3 million, 2.9/9) and Stacked (4.5 million, 2.0/6) leading into Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy (6.3 million, 2.8/7). For the night, CBS led with an average of 13.1 million viewers and 4.2/12 in the key demo.

The WGA West has helped a second group of reality television writers and editors to file a class-action suit to further their organizing goals and win back alleged lost wages, it was announced Wednesday. This suit -- the second in an expected series -- targets Fox Broadcasting Co. and production company Rocket Science over seven series including Trading Spouses, Joe Millionaire and My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance. Three of the 10 named plaintiffs joined union leaders Wednesday in Los Angeles to announce the suit, which they believe could draw retaliation from employers.

Few people, parents or otherwise, showed up Tuesday to Meet Mr. Mom on NBC. The 8 p.m. debut of the summer reality series opened to 4.6 million viewers and 1.6 rating/5 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. The hourlong series about parenting-challenged dads was topped by a repeat of CBS' NCIS (9.1 million, 2.4/8), which ranked as the night's most-watched program overall, and Fox's Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy (4.8 million, 2.2/7).
Fox has picked up the unscripted series Nanny 911 for another season. The network has given a 13-episode order to the Granada America show that follows a team of no-nonsense British nannies who help families with unruly kids. Fox's reality series Nanny 911 and Trading Spouses, which also is expected to be picked up shortly, created a stir long before their premieres in November and July, respectively, because of the similarities to two other British formats acquired by ABC, Supernanny and Wife Swap. All four series have done well this season, though ABC is yet to make a decision on next-season pickups of their series.

Medium kept up its hot streak for NBC on a rerun-dominated Monday night in primetime. The peacock's midseason drama delivered the highest adults 18-49 returns of the night, averaging 15.8 million viewers and 6.0 rating/15 share in adults 18-49. CBS' repeat of CSI: Miami (14.8 million, 5.1/12) placed second in the hour, followed by ABC's Supernanny (10.7 million, 4.5/11). Fox was on solid 18-49 ground with 9 p.m. drama 24 (11.4 million, 4.9/11), which grew from its 8 p.m. lead-in Trading Spouses (8.4 million, 3.6/9) but also benefited from lighter competition from a repeat of NBC's Las Vegas (10.7 million, 3.9/9) and an encore of CBS' Everybody Loves Raymond.
RDF Media sued Fox Broadcasting Co. and Rocket Science Laboratories LLC on Wednesday for allegedly copying RDF's Wife Swap series in developing Fox's Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy. The suit filed in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles alleges copyright infringement, unfair competition and other claims. It seeks at least $54 million in damages and an injunction barring Fox and Rocket Science from infringing on the copyrights of RDF, a U.K. independent television production company. Fox officials declined to comment on the suit. The suit claims that Trading Spouses incorporated many elements of Wife Swap, which has been on British TV since January 2002 and on ABC in the U.S. since September. The similarities are said to include the plot, tone, theme, narration and the dialogue that arises from constructed situations.

The Next Great Champ just can't catch a break. Round two of Fox's new boxing reality series on Tuesday was beaten just as badly as it was in last week's debut. The Oscar De la Hoya-fronted Champ ran a distant fourth in its 9 p.m. time slot, even coming in under ABC's back-to-back According to Jim repeats with an average of 5 million viewers and 2.4 rating/6 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. The bright spot for Champ was the spike the show posted at the half-hour mark with men 18-49 (from 2.3/7 to 3.0/8) and men 18-34 (from 2.5/8 to 3.3/10). Fox was better off at 8 p.m. with a fresh episode of Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy (7.3 million, 3.3/10), which won the hour in adults 18-49.
