  • Warning: Spoilers
"Spinal Tap: The Final Tour" is an American 20-minute documentary in the English language. The director here is Rob Reiner and he is also among the writers. Of course, he is known for his documentary "This is Spinal Tap", but here we have another take on the successful band by Reiner. Apparently, this was made before TiST, which means in the early 1980s, but if the IMDb release date is correct, than it took over 15 years for this one to be released. Anyway, fans can wait right? Because they are probably the only ones who will enjoy this documentary short. I may be a bit biased as I never really cared for Spinal Tap or their music genre in general, but I also could not say that I got any more curious about them by watching this one here. It is a pretty generic concert documentary. You get what you could expect. Some interviews with fans early on, but afterward the focus is entirely on the band and they share their wisdom with us and of course there is also a great deal of concert footage in here. As a whole, I would give this one a thumbs-down, but my reasons are mostly subjective as I described earlier already. If you like heavy metal, it's probably worth checking out and at this runtime, you can't really do a lot wrong anyway.
