The 'Manhunter' Look: A Conversation with Dante Spinotti (2001)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
This ten minute interview with cinematographer Dante Spinotti is really going to appeal not only to fans of MANHUNTER but also people interested in becoming a cinematographer. I say that because Spinotti does a terrific job about going into details on various lighting done in the film and exactly what he was trying to do with the use of colors. One example is the light blues that are seen in the picture. At just ten minutes this sadly isn't long enough to be more ground-breaking or just more interesting but what we do get is certainly entertaining and highly educational. There's no doubt that Spinotti does a very good job at expressing himself and the look of the picture.
