When the menace known as the Joker emerges from his mysterious past, he wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, the Dark Knight must accept one of the greatest psychological and physical tests of his ability to fight injustice.
Along with Spider-Man 3 (2007) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), this film reached the one hundred million dollar mark the fastest, in only two days. Since it had a larger opening day than those two blockbusters, it reached the milestone even sooner.

During the SWAT chase scene, the Joker fires several rockets at the SWAT caravan. The final rocket is intercepted by the tumbler after it jumps over a car. After the tumbler gets hit, it starts to flip. As it flips, it is clear that one wheel falls off. In the following shot, as the vehicle comes to rest, all four wheels are in tact.
Christian Bale is credited with playing "Bruce Wayne" but not "Batman" in the closing credits.
