An insurance agent comes to Mel's Diner looking for Alice. He tells her that her late husband had taken out a $1,500 life insurance policy. Alice is at first ecstatic as she could certainly use the 1,500 dollars and is pleasantly taken aback by her late husband's thoughtfulness. But then the agent tells her that she is not the beneficiary but rather that another woman is. Alice is understandably upset and becomes determined to visit this woman and give her a piece of her mind. There is an interesting and touching twist to the story that, while somewhat predictable, is nonetheless both amusing and satisfying. It was nice seeing Lurene Tuttle, a stalwart of 50s and 60s television, in a key role.
