Tired of being thought of as the kid in the family Michael Landon in these early Bonanza stories could still get away with being thought of as a kid. During a trip to the small town of Rubicon Landon gets into a fight with the town thug and beats him up. Impressed the town's leading citizen Vic Morrow and the mayor John Litel offer to make him temporary sheriff as the real sheriff is out of town.
Despite Lorne Greene's pleadings, Landon takes the job. But sometimes father really does know best. The real sheriff is out on a pretext because Morrow has a murder in mind and he doesn't want the real sheriff around. Sweetening the deal is Karen Steele who is Litel's daughter and Morrow's girlfriend. She comes on big time to Little Joe.
This is a nice story. Great acting by Vic Morrow who turns out to be some piece of work.
