Al Rogart is on trial for murder. He tells his friend Joe Manson that unless Manson provides him with an alibi, Rogart will tell Manson's wife about Manson's girlfriend. Rogart and Manson were in the Army with Kenneth Preston and Manson goes to him with his story. The elder Preston interviews Rogart and Manson and everything seems OK. At trial, the victim's father testifies that he saw Rogart standing over his son's body. Preston casts doubt upon his testimony by showing that he suffers from cataracts. However, Manson is a poor witness and is continually tripped up by the prosecutor. Manson finally confesses the alibi is a lie and that the elder Preston told him to do it! The elder Preston finally decides that since his son got him into this mess, it's only right that his son defend him at his trial for suborning perjury. The younger Preston quickly finds out that Manson has a girlfriend and talks her into sitting next to Manson's wife in the courtroom. When the younger Preston cross examines Manson, he makes Manson think the girlfriend is there to reveal their affair. Rather than destroy his marriage, Manson confesses that Rogart and not the elder Preston talked him into committing perjury.
