After leaving her son with Father Dowling and Sister Stephanie at St. Michael's Parish, a woman is shot and wounded badly. The trail leads Father Dowling and police to a department store on Christmas Eve. Will it lead to a Christmas miracle?

Typical Christmas episode which is warm and has some nice scenes between the boy and father Dowling. Of course, there's the usual crime elements, but it's warm story of hope and positivity that makes this a good one.
  • A Wendy, lady that knows the people from St Michael's Church goes to a store around Christmas to find a job. She gets the job immediately and has to start in one hour. She stops at St Michael's and ask the priest if he could arrange to pick up her son Brian.

They are very happy to see her and agree. After a few hours she does not show up to pick up her son or even report to her new job.

It comes out that the woman Wendy was in a store with her husband and small son Brian when her husband was killed by robbers the year before around Christmas. Wendy is seen by the robber and her son Brian saw who them that day.

It happens that these crooks work in the store where Wendy just got her job. One of the men recognizers her and goes to her house and shoots her.

Later Brian is with Father Frank in church. Brian does not care about Christmas. He is sad, his father was killed around Christmas and now his mother is shot. Father Frank tells Brian "it is difficult to feel sad where everyone is happy but it is okay to miss your dad". Father says "sometimes the Christmas we remember the best are the hard ones" like when someone we love dies or being sick. Father says no matter what happens Christmas brings us hope and that people remember what is important, kindness, love, family and friends.

Some good advice from Father Dowling for anyone. The killer is after Brian now, he already shot Wendy and assumes she is dead. Brian wants his mother back for Christmas. Him and Sister Steve pray silently which is stupid but Sister said God can read our minds. I would rather have heard a payer though. God does hear prayer and answers it as well.

At the end some more funny tricks from Sister Steve to throw a killer off guard.
