I didn't know that when work announces to Elizabeth that he has purchased the Logansberg companies, his clothing sets Rodger and Elizabeth up to face battle. Victoria visit Tim and announces that she is not going to see him again much to his Chagrin. Of course, this is a victory for Elizabeth and Roger, and Elizabeth is determined to continue to fight for the benefit of Carolyn and David whom she wants to have a legacy to leave. Meanwhile, David sets off for the old house, presumably to see the unseen Matthew, and returns to face his aunt's wrath.

This is good family drama but not mysterious in any way, setting up more of the business aspects of the story and pausing the gothic Intrigue that has been increasing as of late. Joan Bennett is particularly commanding in this episode, showing that as the head of the family, she is the right person to be in that position. Shots of the old house show that Sarah still a little bit of Gothic intrigued to be had, but it's very little in the 20 minutes seen here.

Episode 114 is basically one in which Burke is brought up to speed with the recent plot developments, namely Roger's seeming exoneration from the whole matter. Of course, this doesn't put a stop to Burke's nefarious scheming.
