The nominees for the 2024 Drama League Awards were announced April 22, 2024, by Vanessa Williams and past Drama League winner Bebe Neuwirth. Winners will be announced during the 90th Annual Drama League Awards ceremony at the Ziegfeld Ballroom on Friday, May 17.
These kudos honor both Broadway and Off-Broadway productions and are famous for their catch-all acting category, the Distinguished Performance Award. An actor can only win it once in their career. After they have won, they can never be nominated again. This year, a whopping 54 performers are nominated.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met for the third time during the 2023-2024 Broadway season on April 19, to discuss eligibility of 8 productions for the 77th Annual Tony Awards in 2024.
They discussed eight productions: “Days of Wine and Roses,” “Doubt,” “The Notebook,” “An Enemy of the People,” “Water for Elephants,” “The Who’s Tommy,” “The Outsiders” and “Lempicka.” The group also met during the winter to discuss late fall and winter openings, but those determinations were not made public until now. Those shows include: “I Need That,” “Harmony,” “Spamalot,” “How to Dance in Ohio,” “Appropriate” and “Prayer for the French Republic.”
The most notable ruling is that “Appropriate” will compete as a revival. The hit play from Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has never been seen on Broadway before this season, but previously enjoyed a successful Off-Broadway run with a different director and cast. Since it is the play’s Broadway debut, Jacobs-Jenkins will appear...

With a new BBC radio series now launched, Courtney Love is once again proving the power of the adage “go large or go home.”
In a wide ranging interview with the UK’s Standard today, the former Hole front woman puts forth her take on some of the biggest names in the music industry. Let’s just say, Love bites in deep in the newspaper, to quote from her 1998 tune “Celebrity Skin,” to get her pound of flesh from Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Madonna and recent Coachella headliner Lana Del Rey.
“Taylor is not important,” the People vs. Larry Flint star says of the superstar.
“She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist,” Love added.
The contrarian opinion on Swift is a big shift from where Love was on the Folklore singer just over two years ago.

No Doubt reunited for the first time in almost a decade at Coachella on Saturday night. The ska legends performed a 16-song set that included a surprise appearance from Olivia Rodrigo and a cover of Madness’ “One Step Beyond.”
Rodrgio, who recently declared No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani “the prime example” of a “true artist,” joined the band for “Bathwater.”
Elsewhere in the set, No Doubt performed hits like “Hella Good,” “Don’t Speak,” “Spiderwebs,” and “Just a Girl,” plus their covers of Madness’ “One Step Beyond” and Talk Talk’s “It’s My Life.” Stefani also dedicated a performance of “Simple Kind Of Life” to her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale.
Watch videos of the performance and check out the full setlist below.
No Doubt first announced their reunion this past January, with their Coachella booking being revealed later that same day. Their booking makes sense, considering Coachella’s affinity for reunions.

Bassist Tony Kanal has embarked on a new career as a TV composer. But he had to put that aside for a special date tonight at Coachella with his friends in No Doubt.
Debuting in 1992, the Anaheim, California group has sold more than 33 million albums. As a member of No Doubt, he helped launch multi-platinum, iconic hits like “Don’t Speak,” “Just A Girl,” “Spiderwebs,” “Hella Good,” “Ex-Girlfriend,” and “It’s My Life” up the charts, netting a pair of Grammy wins, appearances on the covers of Rolling Stone, Alternative Press and Spin, and even a Kennedy Center Honors performance paying tribute to Sir Paul McCartney.
Tonight marks No Doubt’s first major headlining show since 2015.
Kanal has been collaborating with composer Blake Neely, an Emmy winner known for his work on The Arrowverse, Greyhound, and Riverdale, with Kanal guesting on Neely’s soundtrack for the DC Comics TV series Crisis on Infinite Earths.

It has only been 12 years since New York audiences saw a production of Henrik Ibsen’s classic nineteenth-century play “An Enemy of the People.” But unlike that last staging at the Manhattan Theatre Club, the version that just opened at Circle in the Square Theatre on Mar. 18 is a departure, thanks to the vision of director Sam Gold and a new adaptation of the text by Pulitzer Prize finalist Amy Herzog. “Enemy” runs through June 16, the day of the 2024 Tony Awards.

2023 was a miraculous year for German actress Sandra Huller. Not only did she receive critical acclaim for her riveting portrayal of a woman on trial for murdering her husband in France’s “Anatomy of a Fall,” she was also praised for her role as the wife of a Nazi commander in the United Kingdom’s German-language “The Zone of Interest.” Indeed, there was much interest in Huller and her two films. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for “Anatomy.” And both “Anatomy” and “Zone” landed slots for Best Picture, as well as Best Director bids for Justine Triet and Jonathan Glazer, respectively.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton seem like an unlikely duo when it comes to making music, but the married couple has successfully found a way to combine their unique styles. Shelton comes from country music, while Stefani’s famous ’90s band, No Doubt, became famous through the ska-punk scene. Recently, Stefani admitted that she found Shelton’s singing voice “jarring” when she first heard it. Here’s what she said.

For the fourth consecutive year, we’ve got a firecracker of a Best Actress Oscar race. Lily Gladstone took home the Screen Actors Guild Award on Saturday for “Killers of the Flower Moon” over Emma Stone, who had been on a roll since the two won their respective Golden Globes, having pocketed the Critics Choice and BAFTA Awards for “Poor Things.” Now they each have an industry prize and Best Actress feels like a coin-flip. Gladstone has closed the gap on Stone in the Oscar odds since Saturday. Don’t be surprised if she overtakes the top spot soon. But when the SAG Awards and BAFTAs don’t align in Best Actress, which one has the edge at the Oscars?
Since BAFTA became an Oscar precursor 23 years ago, the Brits and the actors guilds have disagreed 13 times in the category prior to the Battle of the Stones. But not all splits are created equally.

Thanks to the recent reunion of Sublime’s Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh with late frontman Bradley Nowell’s son, Jakob, the legendary SoCal group is officially back together and booked for a number of upcoming performances. Now, the band has revealed that new music may also be on the way.
The hint arrives via a new Spin interview with Gaugh and Nowell, in which the two were asked what about their plans following their upcoming set at Coachella. “We’ll see how it goes from the rehearsals, but I’m pretty certain we’re gonna see some music coming out with this project,” Gaugh said.
As for Nowell, he didn’t address any recording, but expressed excitement for Sublime’s upcoming shows and a desire to “add to the legacy of this band.” Looking ahead, he said he’s “hoping to get to those alternative scenes and work with cool alternative artists.

The Roundabout Theatre Company tonight renamed its Broadway venue – a 104-year-old building that began as the Selwyn and most recently went by the prosaic American Airlines Theatre – to honor its late artistic director Todd Haimes.
The 42nd Street venue officially became the Todd Haimes Theatre in a dedication ceremony tonight. Don’t expect a reunion tour from No Doubt after their special performance at Coachella 2024 in April.
In a new Billboard report breaking down the festival’s successful bookings of No Doubt and Sublime reunions, a source close to No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani was cited as saying “not to expect a major No Doubt tour.” Apparently, such a tour would conflict with Stefani’s plans for the rest of 2024 to promote upcoming solo music slated for this summer.
Indeed, Stefani has since been announced as a headliner for the inaugural Minnesota Yacht Club festival (get tickets here) taking place in July and as part of the lineup for the R&b and hip-hop festival Lovers & Friends (get tickets here), which goes down in Las Vegas on March 4th. The Golden Globes have now come and gone, with the organization awarding “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things” their night’s two Best Picture categories. Now, our attention turns to the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards, whose big prize comes in the form of Best Ensemble.
“Oppenheimer” is again expected to take home that award while we are also predicting that “Barbie,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Poor Things,” and “The Color Purple” will be nominated. “Oppenheimer” is again expected to take home that award while we are also predicting that “Barbie,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Poor Things,” and “The Color Purple” will be nominated. However, not every nomination goes that smoothly. So which movies could disrupt these predictions and land themselves a shock bid? Well, here are three we think could do just that.

Last year “Succession” broke the record for the most acting nominations in a single year at the Emmys with 14, and it tied that tally in its final season in 2023. Like last year there are three women from the show in the Best Drama Guest Actress category, one of whom is a perennial favorite and a previous winner for the HBO satirical drama: Cherry Jones for her role as Nan Pierce.

Jones began her career as a founding member of the American Repertory Theater in 1980 and has been inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame, having performed in distinguished plays such as “Stepping Out,” “Our Country’s Good,” “Angels in America,” “A Moon for the Misbegotten,” and “The Glass Menagerie” and winning Tony Awards for Best Actress for “The Heiress” and “Doubt.” On screen, she has had an active...

The Voice stars Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have already decorated the Oklahoma ranch for Christmas in 2023. Stefani shares her kids with her ex-husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale, and the kids are experiencing a new way of life in the country thanks to Shelton. Years ago, Stefani said her kids looked forward to getting luxury brand items for Christmas. Here are the brands she mentioned.
Gwen Stefani says her oldest child wanted Gucci and Goyard for Christmas in 2017
The Voice Season 24 fans know Gwen Stefani for her incredible style. The No Doubt singer hit the stage as a coach in fabulous, funky statement pieces each week — and it makes perfect sense that her kids are well aware of what’s in style. In 2017, she told People that her “spoiled” three boys started asking for luxury-brand items for Christmas. At the time, her oldest son, Kingson, was 11, Zuma was 9, and Apollo was...

Within the last decade, Mark Ruffalo has collected many film and TV acting trophies – including an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and three SAG Awards – but has yet to win the favor of the Critics Choice Association despite receiving numerous nominations from them across multiple categories. Although he has had the least luck in their Best Supporting Actor contests, his inclusion in 2024’s could finally lead to a positive outcome. Either way, the “Poor Things” cast member will at least finish this awards season having made history as the first man to ever compete for this featured performance prize four times.
On his previous three Best Supporting Actor bids for “The Kids Are All Right” (2011), “Foxcatcher” (2015), and “Spotlight” (2016), Ruffalo was respectively bested by Christian Bale (“The Fighter”), J.K. Simmons (“Whiplash”), and Sylvester Stallone (“Creed”). The eight-year gap between his two most recent notices is one of the largest in this category’s history,...

NBC’s The Voice Season 24 continues with Gwen Stefani as a coach. And she’s holding her own without her husband, Blake Shelton, by her side. Shelton and Stefani met on The Voice when they were both going through tough divorces. And recently, Shelton shared why he felt like he was “getting married” to Stefani a second time.
‘The Voice’ star Blake Shelton said it ‘felt like’ he was marrying Gwen Stefani for the 2nd time
The Voice fans miss Blake Shelton, but he still appears in interviews to explain his laidback Oklahoma life with Gwen Stefani. Shelton and Stefani tied the knot in 2021, and they’ve been raving about each other ever since. When Shelton received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he said Stefani’s speech to him made him feel like he was back on his wedding day.

Actor Amy Adams felt very fortunate collaborating with late Capote star Philip Seymour Hoffman. But at one point Adams couldn’t get over being starstruck by her Doubt co-star.

Adams has worked with Hoffman a few times in her career. She first worked with the veteran actor in the movie Doubt, which saw her teaming up with several other established actors. Meryl Streep and Viola Davis were just two of the highly revered performers she’d end up sharing the screen with. Still, Adams took home an experience with Hoffman that she’s rarely had even with other longtime actors.
“I can’t speak for Phil’s experience with me, but this is how I felt with him,” she once told Vanity Fair. “And I felt it first on Doubt...
