Chicago – Two of the most interesting young directors of their generation return this week with the dramedy “It’s Kind of a Funny Story,” Ryan Fleck & Anna Boden’s follow-up to the highly-acclaimed “Half Nelson” and “Sugar.” The film stars Keir Gilchrist (“The United States of Tara”), Zach Galifianakis (“The Hangover”) and Emma Roberts (“Valentine’s Day”) and opens on Friday, October 8th, 2010.
Gilchrist plays Craig, a young man feeling the social and academic pressure that comes with the later years of high school to the point that he’s had a few too many suicidal thoughts lately. He decides to check himself into a psychiatric hospital. Stuck there for five days, he makes friends and falls in love but not in the cheesy way that you might be expecting.
