An eight-year-old boy is thought to be a lazy trouble-maker, until the new art teacher has the patience and compassion to discover the real problem behind his struggles in school.
Aamir Khan did not direct the entire film. Ram Madhvani (who directed the Boman Irani Hinglish starrer Let's Talk (2002)) directed the song "Bheja Kum," which was shot in a school in Panchgani. This is duly credited at the beginning of the end credits of the movie.
Ram Shankar Nikumbh:
lf you fancy racing, breed racehorses, dammit, not children.
When Ram Shankar( Aamir Khan) ask Ishaan's father Mr Awasthi to read the name of the video game, he responds that he can not read because it is in Chinese. In reality it is in Japanese (Chinese does not have Furigana and Katakana). But it maybe possible that Mr Awasthi couldn't distinguish between Chinese and Japanese.
A thankful message is displayed at the end before closing credits, which reads, "Thanks to all those children, parents and teachers, who shared their lives with us and opened windows for us to see clearly".
