  • This is a very sweet short film that starts off very slowly but you should definitely stick with it--the payoff is worth it.

It begins with a sulky teenage boy sitting on the roof of the house. Every moment you see him, he seems gloomy and depressed even though Christmas is approaching. In contrast, the little brother is excited and does nothing but talk about the approaching holiday. Eventually, you come to understand why the older kid is sad--apparently there was a recent fire and the father was badly hurt--so badly that he's still in the hospital. Now it may seem like the four year-old is oblivious to the seriousness of everything, but late in the film the two brothers talk and it's obvious that there is much more to the story.

In many ways, this is a very heartwarming yet sad tale. It shows very deft writing and there really isn't anything not to like about it. Kudos to all.
