After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own.
The song played at Pat and Nikki's wedding (and later used to trigger Pat's mental breakdowns) is Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour". The song itself is about an unrequited love, much like Pat's one-sided love for Nikki.

When, while jogging, Tiffany convinces Pat to enter the dance competition, there are two magically disappearing and reappearing cars. At the opening of the scene at approximately 55:46, just after Tiffany overtakes Pat, there is a house with two cars in the driveway. The cars are: a black 2006 Mazda 6 and a burgundy 2009 Honda Civic. At 57:21 the cars are clearly not in the background. in the space of seconds, at approximately 57:30, the cars are back.
