  • This game felt like a Sherlock Holmes type scenario. Sam has a unique intellectual ability with an interesting perspective depending on your choices. The story itself wasn't very long which I think was really the only thing I was slightly disappointed about. That being said the characters and plot still kept me invested with twists and turns until I finished the game. Personally I really enjoyed this game and would recommend a playthrough to experience the story and choices yourself.
  • Dontnod's first self-published game "Twin Mirror" is also their first attempt at a psychological thriller, with a bold narrative and no real heroes. You play as grizzled investigative reporter Sam Higgs, who is returning to his rural home town Basswood and becoming entangled in a mystery that has a familiar theme from dark noir novels.

The game has a fantastic premise, a powerful mature story with relatable characters, and looking inside Sam's mind is a unique graphical feast. Sadly gameplay is wonky and short, some of the more elaborate storytelling devices don't land, and Sam is deliberately unlikable. But by being so short it is perfect for adults with a busy schedule and big 4K TVs.

I really like Dontnod games. Story rich and gameplay style is more comfort than LIS Before the Storm. It worth to play.
  • TWIN MIRROR was a really memorable murder mystery narritive game with a lot to enjoy about it. The player plays the jaded investigative journalist Sam Higgs as he returns home to Basswood due to the untimely loss of an old friend. The mystery is two-fold, one physical and the other psychological and will keeping you guessing. While the story and it's ending might not be overly shocking, the journey itself is an intriguing feast. Being a true mystery, the game has a clue finding, puzzle solving, thoughtful dialogue driven atmosphere. This game has gorgeous graphics, music, and great realistic character designs. It makes you question your descisions frequently. There are clues hidden all over and if you aren't careful you'll miss them.

Although this game definitely could have been expanded upon, it was still very enjoyable and worth a play or two! I recommend if you enjoy Psychological, Mystery, Crime, Thriller, Narritive-Driven games with many heavily cinematic scenes throughout.
